10 reason to Believe in Christ rather than religion

1. Christ Is Someone To Know And Trust
Christ is more than a system, tradition, or belief. He is a Person who knows our needs, feels our pain, and sympathizes with our weakness. In exchange for our trust, He offers to forgive our sins, to intercede for us, and to bring us to His Father. He cried for us, died for us, and rose from the dead to show that He was all He claimed to be. Conquering death, He showed us that He can save us from our sins, live His life through us on earth, and then bring us safely to heaven. He offers Himself as a gift to anyone who will trust Him ( John 20:24-31).
2. Religion Is Something To Believe And Do
Religion is believing in God, attending religious services, taking catechism, being baptized, and receiving communion. Religion is tradition, ritual, ceremony, and learning the difference between right and wrong. Religion is reading and memorizing Scripture, offering prayers, giving to the poor, and celebrating religious holy days. Religion is singing in the choir, helping the poor, and making amends for past wrongs. Religion is something that was practiced by the Pharisees, those Scripture-loving, conservative, separatistic, spiritual leaders who hated Christ enough to call for His death. They hated Him not only because He broke their traditions in order to help people (Matthew 15:1-9 ) but because He saw through their religion to their hearts
3. Religion Doesn't Change Hearts
Jesus likened the religious Pharisees to a group of dishwashers who clean the outside of a cup while leaving the inside dirty. He said, "Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness. Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also?" (Luke 11:39-40). Jesus knew that a person can change his image without changing his act ( Matthew 23:1-3). He knew that religious credentials and ceremony cannot change the heart. He told one of the most religious men of His day that unless a person is "born again" by the Spirit, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). Yet from that day until now, many of the most religious people in the world continue to forget that while religion can give attention to outward appearance, only Christ can change the heart.
4. Religion Makes Much Of Little
Jesus spoke to religionists who had a passion for detail when He said, "Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue, and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone" ( Luke 11:42). Jesus saw our tendency to make rules and to focus on "morally correct" behavior instead of keeping our eyes on the bigger issue of why we are trying to be so right. While the Pharisees were big on knowledge carried out to its logical conclusions, they forgot that God doesn't care how much we know until He knows how much we care. It was this greater "why" that the apostle Paul had in mind when he wrote, "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. . . . If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing" ( 1 Corinthians 13:1,3).
5. Religion Offers The Approval Of Men Rather Than God
Jesus reserved His strongest criticism for religious people who used their spiritual reputation to get social attention and honors. To such religionists Jesus said, "Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces" ( Luke 11:43). Then, speaking to His disciples, He said of the Pharisees, "All their works they do to be seen by men" ( Matthew 23:5). Jesus saw clearly into the practice of religion, which holds the opinions and attention of man to be more important and desirable than the approval of God.
6. Religion Makes Hypocrites Of Us
Jesus said, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like graves which are not seen, and the men who walk over them are not aware of them" ( Luke 11:44). What looks better than being dressed right, attending religious services, and doing things that mark us as decent, God-fearing people? Yet how many religious scholars, ministers, and faithful followers withhold honor and encouragement from their wives, attention from their children, and love from their doctrinal enemies? Jesus knew what we often forget: What looks good may have a heart of evil.
7. Religion Makes A Hard Life Harder
Because religion cannot change a heart, it tries to control people with laws and expectations that are not even kept by the religionists who interpret and apply the rules. With this "burden factor" in mind, Jesus said, "Woe to you also, lawyers [experts in religious law]! For you load men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers" (Luke 11:46). Religion is good at describing high standards of right behavior and relationships, but poor at giving real and merciful help to those who realize they have not lived up to those expectations.
8. Religion Makes It Easy To Deceive Ourselves
It's been jokingly said, "I love humanity. It's people I can't stand." The Pharisees acted out a similar idea, but it wasn't funny. According to Jesus, the Pharisees prided themselves in honoring and building memorials to the prophets. The irony is that when they met a real prophet they wanted to kill Him. Barclay says, "The only prophets they admired were dead prophets; when they met a living one, they tried to kill Him. They honored the dead prophets with tombs and memorials, but they dishonored the living ones with persecution and death." This is the point Jesus made in Luke 11:47-51 and in a parallel passage in Matthew 23:29-32. The Pharisees had fooled themselves. They didn't think of themselves as prophet-killers. Religionists don't see themselves as the God-rejecting people they are.
9. Religion Hides The Key Of Knowledge
One of the greatest dangers of religion is that it causes us to be a danger not only to ourselves but also to others. To the very religious biblical experts of His day Jesus said, "Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered" ( Luke 11:52). Religionists take away "the key of knowledge" by distracting people from the Word of God and from a "right attention of heart" by the unnecessary additions of denominationally correct traditions and expectations. Rather than leading people to God, religionists shift the focus to themselves and their own rules. Religionists are those who trust the beliefs and actions of their religion to do what only Christ can do.
10. Religion Leads Its Converts Astray
In Matthew 23:15 Jesus said, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves." Converts of religion are in double jeopardy. They bring a double enthusiasm to their new way of life, and with zeal they blindly defend their blind teachers. They put themselves in the trust of people who have exchanged a system of rules and traditions for the life, forgiveness, and relationship of an infinite Savior. Religion is important in its place (James 1:26-27), but only when it points us to the Christ who died for our sins and who now offers to live His life through those who trust Him (Galatians 2:20; Titus 3:5). Putin Orders Russian Military Forces To Attack US Forces During Iran

Russian Military Analysts are reporting today that President Putin has issued orders to the Russian Interior Ministry to `immediately' dispatch Spetsnaz (Special Forces) troops to Iran to protect `vital' Russian assets, including the Bushehr Nuclear power plant.
These reports state that this order from President Putin to the Interior Ministry includes the phrase, "against any and all hostile forces", and which analysts state is a direct threat to US and Israeli Forces currently massing for their planned attack and invasion of Iran.
According to these reports, President Putin was `strongly' lobbied by Saudi Arabia to create a `buffer' against further US aggression in the Gulf Region, and which the Saudi King in his talks with President Putin this week stated his belief that the United States after attacking Iran would then set its sites upon his oil rich nation.
The fears of Saudi Arabia about an American takeover of their oil fields was further confirmed this week with the pronouncements of US Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns to end US oil purchases from Venezuela, and which would leave only the Saudi Kingdom able to make up the difference in lost oil to the Americans.
President Putin in his speech before the Munich Security Conference this past week further warned the United States against its planned military expansion, and as we can read:
"It is world in which there is one master, one sovereign. And at the end of the day this is pernicious not only for all those within this system, but also for the sovereign itself because it destroys itself from within.
And this certainly has nothing in common with democracy. Because, as you know, democracy is the power of the majority in light of the interests and opinions of the minority.
Incidentally, Russia – we – are constantly being taught about democracy. But for some reason those who teach us do not want to learn themselves.
I consider that the unipolar model is not only unacceptable but also impossible in today's world. And this is not only because if there was individual leadership in today's – and precisely in today's – world, then the military, political and economic resources would not suffice. What is even more important is that the model itself is flawed because at its basis there is and can be no moral foundations for modern civilisation.
Along with this, what is happening in today's world – and we just started to discuss this – is a tentative to introduce precisely this concept into international affairs, the concept of a unipolar world.
And with which results?
Unilateral and frequently illegitimate actions have not resolved any problems. Moreover, they have caused new human tragedies and created new centres of tension. Judge for yourselves: wars as well as local and regional conflicts have not diminished. Mr Teltschik mentioned this very gently. And no less people perish in these conflicts – even more are dying than before. Significantly more, significantly more!
Today we are witnessing an almost uncontained hyper use of force – military force – in international relations, force that is plunging the world into an abyss of permanent conflicts. As a result we do not have sufficient strength to find a comprehensive solution to any one of these conflicts. Finding a political settlement also becomes impossible.
We are seeing a greater and greater disdain for the basic principles of international law. And independent legal norms are, as a matter of fact, coming increasingly closer to one state's legal system. One state and, of course, first and foremost the United States, has overstepped its national borders in every way."
Virtually unknown to the American peoples themselves are that their Military Leaders plans do not call for a World based upon democratic ideals, but are instead based upon the ancient Roman model of establishing American based protectorates around the Globe to insure the survival of the United States against both Russia and China, and who their Defense Secretary recently warned the US Congress:
"We need the full range of military capabilities, " including ground combat forces to battle large armies and nimble special operations troops to scout out terrorist threats, Gates told the House Armed Services Committee. "We don't know what's going to develop in places like Russia and China, in North Korea, in Iran and elsewhere."
Russia has reacted harshly to the Americans by demanding an explanation for the stance being taken by their War Leaders, and as we can read:
"Moscow has demanded Washington's explanation of the U.S. defense secretary's Wednesday statement on uncertain prospects of developments in Russia, North Korea, Iran and China, a Russian foreign ministry spokesman said Monday.
Robert Gates said Wednesday the United States needs forces to combat big armies and special units to counter terrorism as he is unaware what may develop in such countries as Russia, North Korea, Iran and China."
Aside from the United States war zones, and where in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia the political control rests with powerful militias and warlords, the `model' the Americans are building for their allies is based solely on powerful dictators and not free and fair elections, and as we can see evidenced by: Egypt, and which is ruled by President for Life Mubarak; Pakistan, ruled by Military Dictator Mushaffaf; Jordan, ruled by King; Saudi Arabia, ruled by King; Gulf States, all ruled by Kings.
Most ironic about the despotic Muslim states supported and financed by the Americans is that the only 2 Muslim nations that have held free and fair elections, Iran and Lebanon, have suffered the full rage and anger of the United States and its allies.
Fears for the American people are further raised in these reports due the United States Militaries preparing to open their vast concentration camps in the American Southwest regions, and which reports from America show the preparations being made for the American, British and Germany troops being raised to guard these camps:
"The Pentagon has awarded nearly $1 million to the city of El Paso to help prepare for the arrival of thousands of new troops at Fort Bliss. Democratic Representative Silvestre Reyes, who heads the House Intelligence Committee, announced the grant Monday.
The money from the Defense Department's Office of Economic Adjustment will help pay for housing, utilities, education, public safety, health and social services. The award comes as Congress is fighting a Thursday deadline to pass a spending bill to keep the federal government operating.
The bill has been under debate amid Republican complaints that the legislation doesn't include enough money for Base Closing and Realignment work this year. The bill provides $2.5 billion for that work, but some Republicans want more. Fort Bliss is due to receive 20,000 troops, plus family members, over several years."
As President Putin has urged the American War Leaders 'not to pose as Lord God', he has also reminded the Russian people that "Russia's religion and nuclear weapons are equally important for the national security".
It is with much sadness that we have to report today that the American War Leaders are not heeding the warnings of President Putin, and in not doing so are plunging our entire World towards the abyss.

God Gathers His Saints

God Gather's His Saints [Key Verse] (Psalms 50:,45)He shall call to the heavens from above,that he may judge his people. Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. ___________________________________________________________________
He summons the heavens and the earth and personfied witness for these changes. He is about to level concerning His professing people. Let's look into the book of Deutermony and see which we can have more vital information. [Deut.32:1] It says: Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the Words of My Mouth. All creation was called to be an audience to hear the message to Isreal as in another chapeter in verse{Deut.30:19},I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death,blessing and curing: therefore choose life, that both thou and they seed may live. ( Deut.30:19).
because the truth Moses was about to proclaim concern the whole universe it did do because it involved the honor of God the creator so very disregarded by the sinners, the justification of God so righteous in all His ways, and the manifestation in heaven and earth of God's judgement and salvation in verse (v.43) of this very same book: For I will lift up my hand to heaven to heaven, and say, I live for ever. If I whet my glittering sword, and mind hand take hold of judgement; I will render vegance to mine enemies, and will reward them at hate me. I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh;and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. ( Deut.32:40-42). Rejoice, O ye nations,with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. ( Deut.32:43). They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of usl they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might manifest that were not at all of us. But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto You because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is the Anti-christ?that denieth the Father and the Son. The Big Picture and The Bottomline: People who decieves, slanders, lies, and while they are at it in thier ungodly life-styles and all of those immoral lifestyles cannot ignore God's Word for long God does sees what does go on in all of His earth daily and for years I might add. In what goes on here in looking at all human beings in what they are doing in the public eyes or inside of those homes,outside activites, work places, just because He's silent just don't mean that He doesn't care about the people of this earth. One day God will present His case against them, and judgment will follow. The way to advoid it to repent all that is within themselves, reconcile in God by repenting all of one's own infirmities of which they are very conscience of in thier own lives But those may die with comfort and ease, whenever God calls for them notwithstanding the the sins they remember against themselves, who have a believing prospect, and a well-grounded hope of that eternal Home beyond one's own death, then to begin to thank Him, worship Him then to truly follow Him in All that He says in His Word which is His Truths that we do refer to the Bible. That is the only "Key" here in living long in the "New Jerusalem" what a glorious day for some and others will cry and moan for what had taken plce in one's own life at that time. I know to believe that theses things will happen just the way God said it would deeply within my own soul. This will be that seperation of the saints and those whom oppose the Lord i also dectibes in the Book of Jude it is exactly the way it will be for more people than we know about in one's own community that we see or hear about on the evening new's reports,oh, those awful reports that we all see and witness.Those that are able to be with Him have decided to turn away from all temptations and have to come to know deep within themselves in coming out of this world and are advoiding all of those pollutions that are in this world at all cost only to serve the Lord Jesus Christ daily as His servant.Fot thy show those same attributes as the Anit-christ whom denies the person, of any office of Jesus Christ and in denying the Son, he denies the Father also, and they have No part in his own favor while they totally reject one's own great salvation. Those kinds of seducers even in the believer's circles would not be sedcued in any way , No! Have Nothing to do with it in or aound their own lives, much less one's family. The 'True" church knows those truths and it's own members, and whom are not ture unto God. For we watchful and have been very humbled in our lives from what we was before, we became believers. True Christians are the anointed ones, there names expresses it with grace, gifts and all of those spiritual privlieges, by which came from the Holy Ghost. Those people out there are under the Anti- christ spell and all that pertains to him that are in this world of all kinds of delusions and are often times masked by attemping to grab us but can't becuase of Jesus Christ through prayer and believing Jesus Christ of His Atonement in our devotions unto Him. Thank You Jesus ! We lift Your Name Father God! Hallelujah! We Praise You and glorify You Holy Name of the Alpha & Omega !!! Such a mighty powerful messages that the Sword "has for us to day ! For I covet to rest in the grave. Doubtless, this was my infirmity; though I might have been a good person in life that chooses death over any kind of sin in my life, so I'm so very content to live long in Jesus Christ as I daily live in Him and to always do is set out in alway's pleasing Jesus Christ in every opportunity of living, glorifying, worship in preparing for that beauitful home in heaven. catcmo2006

Needing Each Other: We cannot grow alone. We are all interconnected, and we need one another. We grow only as each part does it's work. Jesus Christ (Himself) needed an extended family of believers to fill in the gap for Him. As He hung on a cross in agony , knowing his death was close. He looked into that crowd as saw His beloved Moher. Seeing her pain must have been overwhelming . With a very broken heart and filled with tears in his eyes, he gasesd so tenderly at her. He saw his disciple whom He loved very deeply standing nearby. Jesus said to His mother." Dear Woman". here is your son," and to the disciple,"Here is your Mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home. John, Jesus Beloved disciple, became a son in Mary's extended family. He filled the gap that Jesus left when He died. Yes, God created us to live in a family. And it is good.

(1 Cor.13:1-13) For those whom are "Believers" we are to be that living channel in God's love for all other's in our lives, and for those we don't know or perhaps those we care not to be next to simply because they may not like the other persons personnal hygine, vagrant,a migratory workers all across this nation,homeless people. Some of those typical people have little or No Money, often times loss of jobs, having to move to where jobs are all across this globe because big business went to other countries to in with the big brother holding companies in that up- coming Anti- Christ has it's foot-hold on what's going to be taken place not only in our nation but in other overseas countries. For which I dis-like saying things like this but it's all truths. It totally grives my heart just to think things like this but I can't ignore those things or to put them away in my own mind, but to share with You the readers ought to know what to be expecting in our future and lively hood all our lives all across the board. With all the technolgy, NASA,eletronic pubilishing world,Banking, and Those top Corporations in all of those type of interactive comportments that thrive on another in all aspects of our nations industries no matter what field they have that is a compound in continued proportions in all of those empires. But we do have others whom thrive on movies,music industries, occult practices of which is those central facts of the underworld,secrest societies ect. No matter what we see and witness in our lives today which often times are so very hurtful and we all at one time or another had to deal with all kinds of tragdedies that are very tragic all across the board. Some of those things do has it awful effects of it that caused us to be traumatizes our senses for us to deal with by costly professionals to bring healing unto us as a nation as a whole. Then we finally find a place to where our own life that we have turned all of those hurts, habits, hang-up unto our precious Jesus Christ and begin to learn of His natures and just whom He is and what He's truly all about as He share with us His true character in the Bible. Many people have wronged us and we've have done those simliar situations, grieved, often times very unfair in those treatments which has caused our hurts that have been very deeply. We know that some of those has been taught by our elders that ought to have protected us and in those same circles, addictions that has soared in many nations in causes and effects. Situations that are simliar unto us knows such truths in it's natures.When those dark roads have made a clearing in our own lives then we begin to search for God's truths that will and can pre vail us through till the end of time as well of that final resting place in God the Father, and His (Only) begotton Son Jesus Christ. SEARCHING OUR HEARTS:Examine yourselves, whether ye be in faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not yourselvesm how that Jesus Christ is in you,except ye be reprobates? ( 2 Cor.13:5). The questions we have inside of one self is: "As God's children it is very vital that we truly know what motivates us," "What are those reasons why we do in some of all those things we daily in our life?" Is it by or is it by hate?," We ought to look very deeply within our lives to see what that answers are inside everyone of as living human beings.( 1Cor.11:28). Do we guard our hearts from "All" of those very ungoldy things that we witness, hear from others, in work places, family member, old friends,new aquaintances,now matter what walks of the life we each live today, and in one's own past that comes to our minds of what we sek today. Dieases, emotions, health issues,selfishness, jealousy, fears, anxieties, ungodly people in those that often represent an active, and very peaceful life abiding people whom live as believer's in Jesus Christ. when we come to realize and deeply know all truths then we can begin to one self as we have searched out one's own heart, get real with self, and totally admit all ofour wrongs, habits, hang-up that distracted us in our life.To share this with the readers this known fact some people literally run away from this and they stay the same and do those things that just don't change in those kinds of people. But going back to us searching one's heart comes humility and ones realness with God and His (Son) in asking Him to help us search one's heart inside of self simply because we can't see what those truths are inside of self. We, Too, need to be just like "King David" in totally crying out to our God for we are unable to come forth with our own truths that has been locked away inside of us.(Ps.139:23,24), ( Ps.140:1-13). He our very precious Jesus and the Father God brings us through delieverance through the word as we walk in Him daily in our own life, and as seasons of times (Neh.2:6; Eccl.3:1-22). A "Warning" and a "Word" often times we are apt to be in denial of those truths. When that happens someone is to come into our life to show us those truths and we may not like it during those times, if this happens then look in the Bible for the kind of Help which is only ment for our hearts to be "revealed" unto us to one day have a destiny in the Lord Jesus Christ to moving forward in Him. ( 2Sam.12), (1sam.25:25-34). Above all be reeptive in a humbling way inside of "Self" whom God send to us to recieve in the person whom helps us as a people of God.Then we will God's powerful Holy Spirit that enables us to move in His love. That is what give us the timing and purposs as often times give us those divine interuptions as we have waited very patienly on His perfected plans and designs that helps us move in the Lord in the Holy Ghost power in our prayers that we often times act in all others behalf in those countless of lives in our very quiet moments, seconds, that last until we have a release come unto us by Jesus Christ himself. We then learn to have all of those emotions subsides in knowing that one security is being lived together in our life.And for us not to be such a clingly person to those people that is in and around our lives on a daily basis. That kind of devoted love that we have first of to Jesus Christ, then it trickles down to other people that surrounds us, as we value them as another person of which may or may not be a believer but can be by our witness unto them by which we live one's own life daily before them, when the Lord leads us to them on a continual basis as our lives inter- twine by time and seasons for them to become a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ .catcmo2006

The Letter From Hell

One day a woman named Louise fell asleep in her
bed, and dreamed a very frightful dream. She dreamed
that someone in Hell wrote a letter to her, and it was
to be delivered to her by a messenger. The messenger
passed between the lakes of Hell, and found his way to
the door that would lead him to the outside world.
Louise dreamed that the messenger walked to her house,came inside, and gently but firmly woke Louise up. Hegave her the message, saying only a friend had writtenit to her from Hell. Louise, in her dream, with

Dear Precious Heavenly Father; As We All come bodly before Your Throne Father, We "Thank You" and give our "Praises" unto You as we bow before with each one of our own hearts right now before You in knowing that each one of our hearts are broken before You Lord, Jesus, we holding up this nation unto You as our hearts are so torn apart in seeing and having that inner knowing just what is taking place before us as You have led others in showing us those truths that have been brought out before us to really know all of those truths that had been darkened for so long has been enlightened by You and Your Holy Spirit so all information could be seen and discerned by that had been clouded before us to get our attention and to literally discern what is and has taken place in Your Holy Sights only because You keep Your children safe in You.

Oh, Father, those awful things had been so much full of awful lies that they love to hide from it's people all across this land of which is very decitful and so many cover-ups to hide what they do in all of our Goverment officals all across this nation. They hide behind all of those secret societies which is nothing but the Anti-Christ shemes that holds so much degradation and corruptions to the highest degree. Pray that it has the moral fortitude to crush the oppressor and stand up to the powerful who are wicked. Pray that it will support programs that bring deliverance to the needy. That it may be a powerful and well honoured government because it has served God well. Evening Prayer

Dear Precious Heavenly Father; I just want to come unto You this evening in worship and thanksgiving unto You for all that You did before us today. Oh,Precious Father, You have already determined that we are to be partners in our time of Prayer being together in one accord for those whom are in need of Your Holy Spirit in touching them with Your powerful anointing upon those lives.Father I come bodly unto Your Throne in the Name of Jesus, in dispatching Your very mightest warring Angles to go before us right now to hold back all forces of Satan while we sleep this night. Satan, you and any of your evil spirits in your kingdom that could be around our properties, I bind you and drive you out in the Name of Jesus. Futhermore, any astral projection or soul travel spirits that could be in or around our property, I command you, in the Name of Jesus, to go back where you came from. I cover my mind, and memories, my conscious, unconscious and subconscious with the blood of Jesus. I bind up any spirits of terror, fear, nightmares, or torment with the blood of Jsus. Lord Jesus, Protect our property, vehicles, families, and our pastors. Give us Your supernatural good rest,speak through us through our dreams and and let us awakened refreshed. Jesus Sitting With Us

The Big Picture: Author: The Apostle Paul Date: A.D.62. Paul wrote this letter from His Prison in Rome; it seemed to have been written about the same time as Philemon and shortly before Ephesians. The Purpose: Colosse was a considerable city of PHYRGIA, Probably not very far from Laodicea and Hierapolic (ch.4:13). The design is to warn them of danger of the Jewish zealots, who pressed the necessity of observing ceremonial law, and to fortify them against mixing Gential philosophy with thier christian principles. This doctrinal heresy was reported by Epaphras. Strange false doctrine is not described directly, but we can infer its nature from what Paul says. It's a mixture of Judaism and some early Gnoticism, which taught that Jesus was super human, but not truly God. He was the greater than human beings, but nat a Savior. Paul professes a great satisfaction in their steadfastness and constancy and encourages them to persever. Major Theme: Jesus Christ is Pre-eminent. _For the Recovery People: Recovery Is A Life Long Process: We may long for a day when we will be totally free from the bondages of our past - a day when recovery will be complete and we can go on with our life. But recovery is a life long process, with daily challenges to maintain contack with our powerful and loving God. From this letter to the Colossian believer's, we do learn that our life with Jesus Christ is not just a one time rescue operation but a life long commitment. The Recovery Involves Faith In God: One danger we face after a period of successful recovery is the tendency to forget how we needed God. It is easy to start thinking we can go alone, depending on rules and formulas of success. The Apostle Paul warned us about the Colosians about this danger,urging them to live in daily contack and communiation with God. It is true that with maturity comes strengths of character, but in it is not true that we can end our faith in God. Self- sufficency got us into trouble in the first place, and it can lead us to relapse as well. If we are to experience true recovery, we need to fully acknowledge our on-going need for God. Jesus Christ Is Lord of The Universe: The entire universe is being held together by the Power of Jesus Christ. e is the Supreme Ruler and Lord of all creation. He is the reflection of the Invisible God. He is eternal, pre-existent, omnipotent, and equal to the Father. He is also the Lord of every successful recovery. What a privilege to depend not merely on someone anoymous "higher power" , but on the highest power of all How incredible that He invites each of us to have a personal relationship with Him! _Healthy Relationships: An important part of the recovery process involves making amends to the people we have wronged. This letter to the Colossians give us practical guidance in this area. The Apostle Paul calls us to live accordingly to the principles of selfless love and to mutually respect all people in our life. If we treat others in ways that builds them up, our relationships will grow stronger and support is in the recovery process. ________________________________________________

All true Christians are brethren one to another. Faithfulness runs through every character and relation of the Christian life. Faith, hope, and love, are the three principal graces in the Christian life, and proper matter for prayer and thanksgiving. The more we fix our hopes on the reward in the other world, the more free shall we be in doing good with our earthly treasure. It was treasured up for them, no enemy could deprive them of it. The gospel is the word of truth, and we may

safely venture our souls upon it. And all who hear the word of the gospel, ought to bring forth the fruit of the gospel, obey it, and have their principles and lives formed according to it. Worldly love arises, either from views of interest or from likeness in manners; carnal love, from the appetite for pleasure. To these, something corrupt, selfish, and base always cleaves. But Christian love arises from the Holy Spirit, and is full of holiness. (Col1:9-14)

Second Coming

_______ The Bottomline is: 1. The Apostacy of some. When the profesesion of Christianity begins to cost men dearly, than shall many be offended; they will begin to pick quarrels at lengths revolt from it. Suffering times are shaking times, and those whom fall in the storm that stood in fair weather. They like their religion while they can have it cheap, but if their profession cost them anything, they quit. 2. They shall betray one another. That is, those that have treacherously deserted their religion shall hate and betray those that adhere to it. Apostates have commonly been the most bitter and violent persecutors. 3. The general declining and cooling of the most.When the Saints are hated, expect two things: (a.) The abounding iniquity,more extensive than ordinary, so that hell seems to be broke loose in blasphemies against God and enmities to the saints.(b) The abating love; this is the consequences of the former.Or, it may be understood more of brotherly love. When iniquity abounds Christians begin to shy away and suspicious one of another, affection are alienated, distance created, parties made; and so love comes to nothing. _ The troubles before the destruction of Jerusalem.

The disciples had asked concerning the times, When these things should be? Christ gave them no answer to that; but they had also asked, What shall be the sign? This question he answers fully. The prophecy first respects events near at hand, the destruction of Jerusalem, the end of the Jewish church and state, the calling of the Gentiles, and the setting up of Christ's kingdom in the world; but it also looks to the general judgment; and toward the close, points more particularly to

the latter. What Christ here said to his disciples, tended more to promote caution than to satisfy their curiosity; more to prepare them for the events that should happen, than to give a distinct idea of the events. This is that good understanding of the times which all should covet, thence to infer what Israel ought to do. Our Saviour cautions his disciples to stand on their guard against false teachers. And he foretells wars and great commotions among nations. From the time that the Jews

rejected Christ, and he left their house desolate, the sword never departed from them. See what comes of refusing the gospel. Those who will not hear the messengers of peace, shall be made to hear the messengers of war. But where the heart is fixed, trusting in God, it is kept in peace, and is not afraid. It is against the mind of Christ, that his people should have troubled hearts, even in troublous times. When we looked forward to the eternity of misery that is before the obstinate refusers

of Christ and his gospel, we may truly say, The greatest earthly judgments are but the beginning of sorrows. It is comforting that some shall endure even to the end. Our Lord foretells the preaching of the gospel in all the world. The end of the world shall not be till the gospel has done its work. Christ foretells the ruin coming upon the people of the Jews; and what he said here, would be of use to his disciples, for their conduct and for their comfort. If God opens a door of escape, we ought

to make our escape, otherwise we do not trust God, but tempt him. It becomes Christ's disciples, in times of public trouble, to be much in prayer: that is never out of season, but in a special manner seasonable when we are distressed on every side. Though we must take what God sends, yet we may pray against sufferings; and it is very trying to a good man, to be taken by any work of necessity from the solemn service and worship of God on the sabbath day. But here is one word of comfort, that for

the elect's sake these days shall be made shorter than their enemies designed, who would have cut all off, if God, who used these foes to serve his own purpose, had not set bounds to their wrath. Christ foretells the rapid spreading of the gospel in the world. It is plainly seen as the lightning. Christ preached his gospel openly. The Romans were like an eagle, and the ensign of their armies was an eagle. When a people, by their sin, make themselves as loathsome carcasses, nothing can be

expected but that God should send enemies to destroy them. It is very applicable to the day of judgment, the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in that day, 2Th 2:1. Let us give diligence to make our calling and election sure; then may we know that no enemy or deceiver shall ever prevail against us. (Mt 24:29-41)
