Psalms 67 Let God Arise

Psalm 67:1-7

1God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

2That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

3Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

4O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

5Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

6Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

7God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

A prayer for the enlargement of Christ's kingdom.

to All our happiness comes from God's mercy; therefore the first thing prayed for is, God be merciful to us, to us sinners, and pardon our sins. Pardon is conveyed by God's blessing, and secured in that. If we, by faith, walk with God, we may hope that his face will shine on us. The psalmist passes on to a prayer for the conversion of the Gentiles, which shows that the Old Testament saints desired that their advantages might also be enjoyed by others. And many Scripture prophecies

and promises are wrapped up in prayers: the answer to the prayer of the church is as sure as the performance of God's promises. The joy wished to the nations, is holy joy. Let them be glad that by his providence the Lord will overrule the affairs of kingdoms; that even the kingdoms of this world shall became the kingdom of the Lord, and of his Christ. Then is declared a joyful prospect of all good when God shall do this. The success of the gospel brings outward mercies with it; righteousness

exalts a nation. The blessing of the Lord sweetens all our creature-comforts to us, and makes them comforts indeed. All the world shall be brought to worship Him. When the gospel begins to spread, it shall go forward more and more, till it reaches to the ends of the earth. It is good to cast in our lot with those that are the blessed of the Lord. If nothing had been spoken in Scripture respecting the conversion of the heathen, we might think it vain to attempt so hopeless a work. But when we

see with what confidence it is declared in the Scriptures, we may engage in missionary labours, assured that God will fulfil his own word. And shall we be backward to make known to the heathen the knowledge with which we are favoured, and the salvation we profess to glory in? They cannot learn unless they are taught. Then let us go forward in the strength of the Lord, and look to him to accompany the word the Holy Ghost; then Satan's kingdom shall be destroyed, and the kingdom of our Redeemer

established.

UPDATE POST 6953

Thank you for getting the information out about my son Richard Wayne Reitz. He was in Olathe when a construction pickup truck with a
trailer behind it ran a stop sign and came out onto the highway in front of the car he was in. The chevy tahoe hit the back of the truck
and swung around and then hit the trailer and around again and they went down into a ditch and up into someone's yard. The driver got cuts
on his left arm when the glass shattered. My son was attended by EMTs at the scene and they wanted to transport him to a hospital. My son
wanted to go to a hospital closer to home so they agreed that he could do that. He was taken to St. Mary's by my daughter in law who was on
her way home from work. After xrays etc. it was determined that he has
a severe bruise covering his right knee which hit the glovebox in the
car. The bone is stable. His head was hit by the console on the roof
of the car which came loose during the accident. He has a large bump
on the left temple and scrapes and bruises on his nose and left side of
his face. There are bruises all over both his legs but they are not
severe. He was given morphine for the pain. At that time he started
having a reaction to the morphine. He became very sick to his stomach,
he was sweating profusely and could hardly keep his eyes open. His
blood pressure dropped to 72/32. There was alot of rushing around at
that time to stabilize him. We spent the rest of the night waiting
for his blood pressure to return to normal. His pressure was so faint
that there was great concern for a little while. I thank everyone who
was praying for him. Please continue to pray about the insurance.
There is some confusion as to who owes the hospital for his treatment.
If the right information is not given to the hospital then my son will
be responsible for the entire bill. I want you to know that even
during the worst part of last night there was no doubt that God was in
control. My daughter in law (who is a nervous person) and I were at
peace because we felt God's presence there. My son felt it also. He
wanted me to tell each of you who prayed how grateful he is for your
prayers. It really had an impact on him. We give God all the praise
and the honor and the glory for all of this. My love to each of you.
Linda Reitz

Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost Sunday—May 27th

Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost Sunday—May 27th

Driven by Habakkuk 2:14 ("For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea"), the dream is to mobilize Christians from every single nation in the world to participate in the Global Day of Prayer over the next few years until 2010.

GDOP Staff/AH (May 25th, 2007)

The Global Day of Prayer (GDOP) is coming up this Sunday, May 27th, which is Pentecost Sunday. According to the GDOP website, there are currently 201 countries registered to take part in the day set aside for people all over the world to seek God.

According to information on the GDOP website, the prayer event began on May 15th, 2005 when millions of Christians from 156 nations in the world united in the first ever Global Day of Prayer. Christians gathered in different venues, seeking God's face in repentance and prayer for the transformation of their communities and nations.

Driven by Hab. 2:14 ("For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea"), the dream is to mobilize Christians from every single nation in the world to participate in the Global Day of Prayer over the next few years until 2010. However, the focus is not only on a single day of prayer, but to see a lifestyle of prayer established that will transform communities.

Last year, on Pentecost Sunday, 4 June 2006, an even greater number of Christians from 199 nations joined this mighty move of God.

This year, coming up on Pentecost Sunday, 27 May 2007, the nations of the world will once again unite in the Global Day of Prayer.

There is also a Global Day of Prayer website just for Youth, with resources, a list of countries involved, and information about taking part in the GDOP for Youth. To access the Youth GDP website, CLICK HERE.

Iowa Soldier Wants Troops' Voices to be Heard in America

to be Heard in America

Issues a call for nation's media to begin reporting good news coming out of Iraq.

John Carlson/TN (May 25th, 2007)

Reporter John Carlson notes that a "tired and disgusted" Blackhawk helicopter pilot from Iowa by the name of Chief Warrant Officer Jim Funk, "fired off an e-mail a few days ago, telling family and friends how things are going in Iraq." (Photo: DesMoinesRegister—Chief Warrant Officer Jim Funk, an Iowa National Guard Black Hawk helicopter pilot from Ames, has been serving in Iraq since October.)

Regarding his unit's morale, he said: "We're treading water. We continue to kick—on missions and take care of each other, even though we know the American public and government DOES NOT stand behind us. Ohhhh, they all say they support us, but how can you support me (the soldier) if you don't support my mission or my objectives. We watch the news over here. Every time we turn it on we see the American public and Hollywood conducting protests and rallies against our 'illegal occupation' of Iraq."

According to the report in The DesMoines Register, his greatest frustration is the performance of the people who deliver the news to the American people.

Says Funk: "Hello media, do you know you indirectly kill American soldiers every day? You inspire and report the enemy's objective every day. You are the enemy's greatest weapon. The enemy cannot beat us on the battlefield so all he does is try to wreak enough havoc and have you report it every day. With you and the enemy using each other, you continually break the will of the American public and American government...daily we put a 'whoopin' on the enemy, but all the enemy has to do is turn on the TV and get re-inspired. He gets to see his daily roadside bomb, truck bomb, suicide bomber or mortar attack. He doesn't see any accomplishments of the U.S. military."
