God’s Wisdom

God's Wisdom

Proverbs 28:6-7 (KJV):
6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.

Proverbs 28:6-7 (AMP):
6 Better is the poor man who walks in his integrity than he who willfully goes in double and wrong ways, though he is rich.
7 Whoever keeps the law (of God and man) is a wise son, but he who is a companion of gluttons and the carousing, self-indulgent, and extravagant shames his father.

Thoughts for the Day

These verses from Proverbs tell us that it is better to have character even though you are poor, than to be perverse in your ways and be rich. Also, a son who is respectful of the laws of God and men, is a wise son, but a son who is riotous will bring shame to his father. When men's values change and they regard money and material things of a greater value than a good name and character, a society will begin to crumble. When moral values and character are not stressed in our schools, our homes, and our churches, soon the lack of these will affect our children and our society in a negative way. Character traits such as honesty, courage, humility, kindness, politeness and respect for authority, bring order to a home, a classroom or a society. People say we cannot legislate morality. What is really needed is men and women in the legislative offices that are moral. Then they will vote for, and support, righteous causes, instead of passing laws that are evil that hurt our society. As individuals, we need to pray for, and vote for, legislators and leaders who are moral and live by godly principles.

In my generation, there was support between our homes, schools and our churches. If a child had a behavior problem at school, the parents would support the school in dealing with it. If a child misbehaved in Sunday School, the parents disciplined the child for this behavior. If a child was guilty of doing something at home, the parents would notify the school and church, so they could help the parents with the needed correction, should it occur there (such as smoking). They all worked together, so the child could not get away with something that was bad.

Our present establishments are so divided that children can now get by with things without being caught because there is no communication between these entities. Also, because of evil in all of these institutions, some people are used of the devil to undermine authority. Instead of some school personnel working with parents, they believe the lies of some of the rebellious children and the parents are then the targets by the school and the children. And then the opposite is true, there are evil parents who abuse their children and lie about it, and the children suffer. There are also wicked men in our churches who have sexually abused the children who come there. Our churches should be a haven from evil, but the devil has now made his way into our churches with sexual abuse, greed, false doctrine and other evils. What does the Bible say about such things?

2 Timothy 3:1-5:
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The devil is trying to gain the minds of our young people today in an effort to destroy them. Verse 7 in today's study tells us that a son who is riotous and self-indulgent will end up bringing shame to their parents. Some children who do not honor their parents are also so wicked that they curse their own father and mother. It is always a blessing to see Christian young people who are respectful and who do honor their parents. These young people stand out as lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.

Proverbs 30:11-14: "There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men."

From these scriptures we see that the Bible speaks of a generation of youth who will be a curse to their parents. The youth of any nation are simply a reflection of the parents of that nation. When sin is not dealt with in any society, the result of those sins will always produce violence. The generation living in the days of Noah was similar to our day. This is the time the Bible speaks of when Jesus Christ will return to this earth to judge the wicked and the righteous.

Genesis 6:11-13: "The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth."

Luke 17: 26-30: "And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed."

Prayer for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful for all of the young people in this generation who have taken a stand for righteousness. Lord, strengthen them to be able to stand strong in their convictions in this perverse and crooked generation. We pray that the leaders in our churches and schools will be righteous and morally good people so that our children and our society will be influenced by the standards of the Bible, so we can all dwell in peace and harmony. Forgive our national sins, so that we might return to the roots that our nation was established on. God bless America is my prayer. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen. catcmo2006

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Morning Devotional God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised. God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. Rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
That ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him.

1 Cor. 1:9. Heb. 10:23. 2 Cor. 6:16. 1 John 1:3. 1 Pet. 4:13. Eph. 3:17-19. 1 John 4:15. 1 John 3:24.

Evening Devotional We are his workmanship.

They brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house. The house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house. Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God.
Ye are God's building. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

My name is Meth...

My name is Meth...
I destroy homes, I tear families apart,
I take your children,
and that's just the start.
I'm more costly than diamonds, more precious than gold,
The sorrow I bring is a sight to behold.
If you need me, remember I'm easily found,
I live all around you - in schools and in town.
I live with the rich; I live with the poor,
I live down the street, and maybe next door.
I'm made in a lab, but not like you think,
I can be made under the kitchen sink.
In your child's closet, and even in the woods,
If this scares you to death, well it certainly should.
I have many names, but there's one you know best,
I'm sure you've heard of me, my name is "crystal meth."
My power is awesome; try me you'll see,
But if you do, you may never break free.
Just try me once and I might let you go,
But try me twice, and I'll own your soul.
When I possess you, you'll steal and you'll lie,
You do what you have to -- just to get high.

The crimes you'll commit for my narcotic charms
Will be worth the pleasure you'll feel in your arms
(your lungs and your nose).
You'll lie to your mother; you'll steal from your dad,
When you see their tears, you should feel sad.
But you'll forget your morals and how you were raised,
I'll be your conscience, I'll teach you my ways.
I take kids from parents, and parents from kids,
I turn people from God, and separate friends.
I'll take everything from you, your looks and your pride,
I'll be with you -- always -- right by your side.

You'll give up everything - your family, your home,
Your friends, your money, then you'll be alone.
I'll take and take, till you have nothing more to give,
When I'm finished with you, you'll be lucky to live.
If you try me, be warned - this is no game,
If given the chance, I'll drive you insane.
I'll ravish your body, I'll control your mind,
I'll own you completely, your soul will be mine.
The nightmares I'll give you while lying in bed,
The voices you'll hear, from inside your head.
The sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see,
I want you to know, these are all 'gifts' from me.
But then it's too late, and you'll know in your heart,
That you are mine, and we shall not part.
You'll regret that you tried me, they always do,
But you came to me, not I to you.
You knew this would happen, many times you were told,
But you challenged my power, and chose to be bold.
You could have said no, and just walked away,
If you could live that day over, now what would you say?
I'll be your master, you will be my slave,
I'll even go with you, when you go to your grave.
Now that you have met me, what will you do?
Will you try me or not? It's all up to you.
I can bring you more misery than words can tell,
Come take my hand, let me lead you into
HELL!

Praying For You

Dear Precious Heavenly Father,I bow in worship and praise before you. I cover myself with the blood of Jesus Christ and claim the protection of the blood for my family, my finances, my home, my spirit, soul and body. I surrender myself completely in every area of my life to you. I take a stand against all the workings of the devil that would try and hinder me and my family from best serving you. I address myself only to the true and living God who has all power and control over everything. satan, I command you and all your demon forces of darkness, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to leave my presence. I bring the blood of Jesus Christ between the devil and my family, my home, my finances, my spirit, soul and body. In Jesus NameI declare, therefore, that satan and his wicked spirits are subject to me in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Furthermore, in my own life today I destroy and tear down all the strongholds of satan and smash the plans of satan that have been formed against me and my family. I tear down the strongholds of the devil against my mind and I surrender my mind to you, Blessed Holy Spirit.I affirm, Heavenly Father, that you have not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Therefore, I resist the spirit of fear, in the name of Jesus, the Son of the Living God, and I refuse to fear, refuse to doubt, refuse to worry, because I have authority (power) over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19).I claim complete and absolute victory over the forces of darkness in the name of Jesus and I bind the devil and command him to loose my peace, joy, prosperity, and every member of my family for the glory of God and by FAITH I call it done. I break and smash, crush the strongholds of Satan formed against my emotions today and give my emotions to you, Lord Jesus. I destroy the strongholds of satan against my body today and I give my body to you Lord Jesus, realizing that I am the Temple of the Holy Ghost (I Corinthians 3:16, I Corinthians 6:19-20).Again, I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and pray that the Holy Ghost would bring all the work of the crucifixion, all the work of the resurrection, all the work of the ascension and all the work of restoration of the Lord Jesus Christ into my life today. I surrender my life and possessions to you. I refuse to fear, worry, or be discouraged in the name of Jesus. I will not hate, envy, or show any type of bitterness toward my brothers, sisters, or my enemies, but I will LOVE them with the love of God shed aboard in my heart by the Holy Ghost.Open my eyes and show me the areas of my life that do not please you and give me the strength, grace and wisdom to remove any sin or weight that would prevent your close fellowship. Work in me to cleanse me from all ground that would give the devil a foothold against me. I claim in every way the victory of the cross over all satanic forces in my life. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving and I welcome all the ministry of the Holy Spirit. In the name and power of the Blood of Jesus, Amen. Father God, I come bodly unto Your Throne of grace in sharing with You on behalf of those whom are sick in mind, body, spirit and in the physcial bodes in everyone's life that You send your warring angles to go out before you in remolding, renew, regenerate, restore everything single part of all those whom are sick with everysingle health problems, mind, soul accidents whether from any kind of vehicle that has to do with transportation, work, home in that makes up our being- which includes emotions and our wills. I know that Your supernatural power can create health into the lives of the people whom have come and have asked for Your Powerful touch that takes it away. I ask You to cause us to use 100% of the brain capacity to function, hearts to function, emotions to function, in Your authority, Your power, in whom You are in us at this very hour. In the Name of Jesus, and through your living blood. I bind and sever every cord of any prince or principality, any strongman and the spirit of darkness over them and those households. We put Jesus Christ bloodline inbetween each person and we cut- off any of satan and his co-horts off and all of your communications, confuse , and crush all of your camps, render all of them inactive and cast you out in Jesus'Name. We bind and cast out every spirit of poverty, lack, confusion, cloudiness, mind-binding, selfishness, anxiety, procrastination. We cast out every spirit of fear, heaviness, jealousy, bondage, whoredom, lying, perversion, slumber, and all infirmities. We plead the blood of Jesus around our properityline, above the roof, and below the foundation of our home, and we bind you satan and your entire kingdom from crossing that bloodline. I cammond today that you can having nothing to do with any of us or any aspect of our lives in any way shape or form. I call on God's warring angles in making sure it happens before us by His power that is Himself our God, our Father in whom we obey, trust in all we do in the Lord.We loose ourselves and each family represented in this prayer by the power of the Holy Spirit and I speak forth blessings in our lives that our God gives unto us as it is in the Sword of God's Truths unto us and we have all of the spirits which is love, peace, happiness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance unto our lives. Thank You Father God as we sing and lift up our praises unto you . Father we want to pray this into your ear today: Our Father, which art in heaven Hollowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliever us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom and power, and the glory forever. I am a blessed child of God. I fear the Lord and delight greatly in His commandments. My seed will be mighty in the earth and my generations will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in my house and my righteousness will endure forever. Because I walk uprightly before the Lord, light will arise in the darkness. My confusion will be overcome and I will have guidance from the Holy Spirit. There is no problems which can come against me that I will not have wisdom and the leading of the Lord to overcome. I will also guide my personal, family and business affairs with discretion. I have wisdom beyond my natural ability. Because I am gracious, compassionate, righteous and give to others, favor follows after me. Everywhere I go, blessings find me. Surely I will not be moved forever. I cannot be shaken by circumstances or fear from the enemy, because I keep the Lord forever in my remembrance. I will not be afraid of evil tidings. My heart is fixed. I trust in the Lord. My heart is established, I will never be afraid. Satan desires to see me defeated. I desire to see him defeated and destroyed. His desire will not come to pass over me. My desire will come to pass over him. With God’s power, I will outlast Satan every time. I have dispersed and given to the poor. My acts of righteousness are eternal. My horn is lifted up in anticipation of a great outpouring of God’s blessing into my life. The wicked will see it and be grieved. Though they gnash their teeth at me, they will melt away and their desires shall perish. My desires will be granted by the Lord and my treasuries will be filled. Amen. catcmo2006

God’s Wisdom For Daily Wisdom

God's Wisdom For Daily Living:

Proverbs 28:3 (KJV): A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.

Proverbs 28:3 (AMP): A poor man who oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaves no food (plundering them of their last morsels).

Thoughts for the Day

This verse from Proverbs tells us that when one who is a wicked person, and is similar in need, takes advantage of their own kind, they are like the destruction of a sweeping rain. Instead of identifying with the plight of poverty, a wicked poor person will exploit their fellow victims. This is such a mean thing for a person to do, when they plunder those who are already suffering under poverty with further oppression. Jesus told a story of this kind of behavior in the book of Matthew.

Matthew 18:23-35:
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

In this story, we see that the Lord and master of this servant was kind to him and forgave the debt that he owed. However, when one of the fellow-servants of this man owed him money, his attitude toward him was not the same as his master's attitude was toward him. He was mean and demanding and had him thrown in prison for not paying his debt. When the master heard of the treatment of this man, he called him a wicked servant. He called him in and reminded him that he forgave the debt owed to him, and he also chastised him for his lack of compassion and pity. It made the lord of this servant angry, and he changed his mind and had him thrown in prison for the debt that he owed him. He told him he would remain in prison until it was all paid.

Jesus then used this story to tell his children that we must forgive our brothers and sisters of their trespasses against us, because He has forgiven us of ours. If we refuse to forgive others, the Lord will allow the torments of the devil to bring us into a prison of bitterness and pain. Unforgiveness hurts the one who carries it, more than the one who it is directed toward. One line of the Lord's Prayer gives us an example of how we should pray and ask for forgiveness.

Matthew 6:12-15:
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

If we fail to forgive others, it can bring us into temptation and evil, and we can embrace a root of bitterness that will block our blessings and hinder our walk with God. The virtues of kindness, compassion and forgiveness are traits of our heavenly Father and should also be character traits of all of His children.

Prayer for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for forgiving me of all of my sins and trespasses. Father, may I always be quick to forgive others for their trespasses against me. Lord, I pray that all of Your children live in harmony with each other, and that we all possess a kind and forgiving disposition. Lord, give us love and understanding for each other in the family of God. Let us lift each other up when any of us fall down and may we have Your virtues of grace and mercy toward each other. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

Walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Thy word hath quickened me.
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one.
Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven.
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way ... let us draw near.

The "End of Times"

I have asked myself questions during todays time and had remember the picture that I have ( AS TO THE LEFT OF THIS POST) whether we are really living in the Last Days as Jesus described them to His disciples, and I showed how we are regularly experiencing the "labor pains" of what is yet to come. As we watch these things happen in our world, as we sense these labor pains getting closer and closer together, we understand that the coming of Jesus Christ is near.

But what is the next event on God's prophetic calendar? Is it Armageddon, the rise of the Antichrist, or something else?

It seems to me that the next event on the prophetic calendar is the Rapture of the church. However, if you try to look up the word "rapture" in the Bible, you won't find it. Unless you have a Latin translation, that is. The phrase "caught up," is the Latin word rapturus, which means "to be caught up." A more literal definition is "to be snatched up." To seize upon with force. " To Come into the Presence of, To Meet" This occurs after the dead rises first then Believers will be taken to meet the Lord in the air. We will be in the primary mode of motion or direction toward in place or thing of one's purpose to that eternal idenity, aim of heading towards our eternal home in glory.

The apostle Paul described this event in his letter to the Christians at Thessalonica:

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

But Paul wasn't the only one to speak of the Rapture. Jesus mentioned it in Matthew 24, where He said, "Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming" (vv. 40-42). Jesus also spoke of it in John 14, where He said, "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also" (vv. 2-3).

We also find a reference to the Rapture in 1 John 2:28 and 3:3: "Abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is."

Home in an instant

Returning for a moment to Paul's description of the Rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4, note that verse 17 says that Christians who are living at the time of the Rapture "shall be caught up together with them [the dead in Christ] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." The word "meet" in this verse carries the idea of meeting a royal person or a person of great importance. When the Lord calls us to Himself, we will meet the ultimate royalty, the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

We see from these verses about the Rapture that Christians will be received into the presence of God instantaneously. According to 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, "We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." Note that this verse doesn't say "in the blink of an eye," but rather "in the twinkling of an eye." A blink is fast – so fast that most of the time you don't even notice it when you blink – but the time it takes for an eye to twinkle is even faster.

There might be some who think they will have time to decide whether to believe when the Rapture happens. But no one can decide that fast. Anyone who has waited until the last minute will be left behind, and they will have to go through a horrible time coming on the earth known as the "Great Tribulation." However, if you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, you have the hope that you will be taken before the Tribulation period comes. The Bible says, "For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 5:9) In the flash of a second, every living Christian on earth will suddenly and instantaneously be gone. So, you might go to bed one night and wake up in heaven.

Prayers for The Nation / Scriptures

Prayers for Revival for All People

"Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people" (Isaiah 56:7).

"And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves" (Mark 11:17).

"But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest" (Matthew 9:36-38).

"Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain...." (Zechariah 10:1b).

"Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession" (Psalm 2:8).

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" (Matthew 7:7-8).

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place" (2 Chronicles 7:14-15).

"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved" (Romans 10:1).

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee" (Psalm 122:6).

Prayers That God Will Hear (How To Pray)

"Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted" (Luke 18:10-14).

"Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity" (Isaiah 58:9).

"Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD" (2 Chronicles 34:27).

"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord" (James 1:6-7).

"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him" (1 John 5:14-15).

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses" (Mark 11:24-16).

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you" (John 15:7).

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 18:19).

"And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight" (1 John 3:22).

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive" (Matthew 21:22).

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24).

"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (1 Timothy 2:8).

"LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear" (Psalm 10:17).

"Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:24).

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5).

"For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows" (Job 22:26-27).

"But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him" (Psalm 4:3).

"The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles" (Psalm 34:17).

"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear" (Isaiah 65:24).

"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up" (Psalm 5:3).

"Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me" (Micah 7:7).

"I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God. For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners" (Psalm 69:30-33).

"For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones" (Isaiah 57:15).

"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" (James 4:8).

"Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard" (Psalm 22:23-24).

"If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles. For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear" (Job 11:14-15).

Pray In The Spirit

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God" (Romans 8:26-27).

"Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also" (1 Corinthians 14:13-15).

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost" (Jude 1:20).

Pray to Escape Temptation and Trouble

"But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day" (Matthew 24:20).

"For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (Luke 21:35-36).

"And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation" (Luke 22:46).

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41).

"Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is" (Mark 13:33).

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" (Matthew 6:13a).

Prayers From the Cross

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

In addition to the few words spoken by Jesus while He was on the cross and other recorded prayers of His, we can be certain that Jesus also prayed the words that are written in the Prophets and in the Psalms. He may have prayed all of Psalm 22 as he hung on the cross:

Psalm 22:
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations.
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

Prayers of the Righteous Ascend Before God

"....And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God" (Acts 10:4b).

"And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints" (Revelation 5:8).

"And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand" (Revelation 8:3-4).

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit" (James 5:16b-18).

"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:1-8).

"And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" (Luke 11:5-13).

"These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren" (Acts 1:14).

"Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;" (Romans 12:12).

"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;" (Colossians 4:2).

"Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day" (1 Timothy 5:5).

"And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day" (Luke 2:36-37).

"I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day" (2 Timothy 1:3).

"Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way" (1 Samuel 12:23).

"Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him" (Acts 12:5).

"But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word" (Acts 6:4).

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42).

"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers" (Romans 1:9).

"Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?" (1 Thessalonians 3:10).

"We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you" (Colossians 1:3).

"Brethren, pray for us" (2 Thessalonians 5:25).

"Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me" (Romans 15:30).

"Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God" (Colossians 4:12).

"Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer...." (1 Corinthians 7:5a).

"And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes" (Daniel 9:3).

"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (1 Timothy 2:8).

"Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually" (1 Chronicles 16:11).

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost" (Jude 1:20).

"Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Proverbs: The Wisdom of Solomon

Amen.

Godly sorrow worketh repentance not to be repented of.

Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head: therefore my heart faileth me. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.
Turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Is it well with thee? And she answered, it is well.

We having the same spirit of faith.
As chastened, and not killed; as sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For which cause we faint not, but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

God’s Wisdom

God's Wisdom Proverbs 28:1 (KJV): The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Proverbs 28:1 (AMP): The wicked flee when no man pursues them, but the (uncompromisingly) righteous are bold as a lion.

Thoughts for the Day

This verse from Proverbs tells us that those who are righteous, and who do not compromise, will be as "bold as a lion" in their position, while those who are wicked will back down and flee. The Bible tells us that those who despise the commandments of God and do works of unrighteousness will ultimately reap what they sow and much sorrow will come to them. God speaks through the scriptures and tells us that terror and fear are things we reap when we sin and disobey Him. When we obey Him, we can walk in faith and courage.

Leviticus 26:15-17& 36:
15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

36 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.

How does God send things upon people? Punishment is simply the penalty for sin or the reaping of the evil that we commit. When this happens, it is called the judgment of God. Although judgment usually has an evil connotation to it (the execution of the penalty for sin), it also has a positive side. Judgment has to do with the sowing and reaping process. This is defined in:

Galatians 6:7-9:
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

From this, we can see that the negative side of judgment is that evil reaps destruction, while on the positive side, good that is sown through Jesus is rewarded. God's judgment on evil is seen by the curse that is on wicked men, while God's judgment for the righteous will manifest in His blessings and rewards on them. This is true for individuals, as well as nations. Yes, judgment comes upon us as we reap what we have sown. God wants to bless us with good things, but our sins prevent God from blessing us.

Jeremiah 5:25: Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

We are all being judged by the Word of God daily. When we fail to keep God's laws and Christ's commandments, we are judged in that respect. When we honor God and keep His Word, we are also judged as faithful. There is one way we can avert judgment. When we repent of our sins and walk in a daily relationship with Jesus, we no longer come under judgment. Jesus took our judgment on the cross to save us from hell, which is the penalty for our sins. We must pray that the church comes to true repentance that will produce a genuine revival in our nation; otherwise we will face more fear and terror, and we will even be fearful when we have nothing to fear.

Psalm 53:4-5a:
4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was.....

When we serve God and keep His commandments, we will not walk in fear, even when there is fear all around us. If we are filled with the Holy Spirit, His Spirit in us will cause us to walk in faith, not fear. We will not run when we hear of evil, but will be as "bold as a lion" and face the evil with God's faith and overcome it in the name of the Lord. This is the reason innumerable missionaries down through the centuries could go into dangerous countries with the gospel and not fear the evil in those nations, because they had the greater One living in them!

Prayer for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful that You came to deliver us from fear and terror. Fear produces torment and You said in Your Word that if we served You, we would be far from terror. Lord, deliver me from those things that produce fear, like fretting and worry, and vain imaginings. Forgive me when I yield to fear and help me to remember Your promises and to have faith in You. You said that You would never forsake me, nor ever leave me. Help me to remember I am not alone when I face any crisis. May I always remember there is victory over every wicked attack against me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
