Good Morning To You

Daily Light

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
My Spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not. The battle is not yours, but God's.
The Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's.

Daily Light

Do as thou hast said.

Establish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver. For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations.
God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath; that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus.
Exceeding great and precious promises.

Prayer:
Gracious God, I acknowledge that You are worthy of all honor, glory and praise. I am thankful for the victorious work of Your Son, Jesus Christ at Calvary for me. I appropriate His victory for myself now as I willingly surrender every area of my life to Your will.
Thank you for the forgiveness and righteousness that has been given to me as Your adopted child. I trust in Your protection and provision daily. I know that your love for me never ceases.
I rejoice in Your victory, my Lord, over all the principalities and powers in the heavenlies. In faith I stand in Your victory and commit myself to live obediently for You my King.
I desire that my fellowship with You become greater. Reveal to me those things that grieve You and enables the enemy to secure an advantage in my life. I need the Holy Spirit's powerful ministry in my life; bringing conviction of sin, repentance of heart, strengthening my faith and increasing perseverance in resisting temptation.
Help me to die to self and walk in the victory of the new creation You have provided for me. Let the fruits of the Spirit flow out of my life so that You will be glorified through my life.
I know that it is Your will that I should stand firm and resist all of the enemy's work against me. Help me to discern the attacks upon my thoughts and emotions. Enable me to stand upon Your Word and resist all the accusations, distortions and condemnations that are hurled against me.
It is my desire to be transformed through the renewing of my mind, so that I will not compromise with the ways of the world, or yield to the enemy's attacks, but be obedient to Your will.
I draw upon those spiritual resources that You have provided me and I attack the strongholds and plans of the enemy that have been put in place against me. I command in the name of Jesus Christ that the enemy must release my mind, will, emotions and body completely. They have been yielded to the Lord and I belong to Him.
Lord, enable me to become the person You created me to be. Help me as I pray to be strong in faith. Show me how to apply Your Word in my life each day. I know that I wear the full armor of God when I am committed to and stand firmly upon Your Word. I want You to have the supreme place in my life.
I surrender myself completely to You, Lord. You are always faithful and You extend Your grace to me constantly, even when I do not realize it. I claim Your promise of forgiveness and cleansing in its fullness. In faith, I receive the victory today that you have already put in place for me. I do this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior with a grateful heart. In the name and power of the Blood of Jesus, Amen Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. "Heavenly Father, I see that it is through Your Word that I have access to wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. So I covenant with You to always give voice to Your Word. I will not allow my voice to speak the words of the enemy. I will give him no place in my life. But I give place to Your Word and Your Spirit. For You have given the angels charge over me and they keep me in all my ways.I boldly proclaim that I'm redeemed from the curse of the law. I'm delivered from the authority of darkness and have been translated into the Kingdom of your dear Son. The Greater One dwells in me, and I have made Your Word my foundation. Therefore, I will not fall, neither shall I fail.Your Word will cause me to prevail. Even though a thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, it shall not come near me, for You've given Your angels charge over me. They keep me in all my ways. In my pathway is life, healing, and prosperity, for Abraham's blessings are mine!Christ has redeemed me from poverty, sickness, and spiritual death. Therefore, I boldly confess that I am the redeemed of the Lord!Heavenly Father, because of Your Word, I forbid any sickness or disease from operating in my body. My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost.Body, I'm speaking to you! I charge you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the authority of His Holy Word to be healed and made whole in Jesus' Name. That which God has not planted is dissolved and is rooted out in Jesus' Name!Galatians 3:13 is in my mouth. Galatians 3:13 is flowing in my bloodstream. 1 Peter 2:24 is causing my body to conform to Your Word. Your Word is transforming my body, because You sent Your Word and healed me. (Psalms 107:20)Father, Your Word is transforming my body, causing growths to disappear and sickness to flee. Arthritis is a thing of the past. My bones and joints function properly in Jesus' Name! The Spirit of God is upon me, and the Word of God is within me. Therefore, I will fear no evil for Your Word and Your Spirit comfort me.I'm far from oppression and fear does not come near me. I proclaim that they are mine! I will not be deceived, and the enemy will not steal what you have given.I boldly declare that I will walk in prosperity. I will walk in health, for Your Word abides within me. The Greater One is in me, and He will put me over.Even though many may fall by my side, I will continue to proclaim that it shall not come near me. I loose the angels, the ministering spirits, and charge them with Your Words to garrison about my home, my family, my finances, and guide me with the wisdom of God.Heavenly Father, You keep me in perfect peace, for my mind is stayed on You. The battle is Yours so I'll not enter the fight, but I'll lift up my head and rejoice! I'll stand to the true height of Your Word, and not let it out of my sight!I confess that I have perfect knowledge of every situation. I do not lack for the wisdom of God, for I have the mind of Christ. The wisdom of God is formed within me, so I rejoice knowing that the enemy is defeated! Faith is the victory, and it comes from Your Word. So I rejoice! I won't weep in despair. I won't wring my hands and weep in prayer. But I'll come boldly to the Throne of Grace rejoicing, my petition to bare. I'll enter into the new way, and I'll speak the things that You say. Morning Verse

"Renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10

A backslider, if there be a spark of life left in him will groan after restoration. In this renewal the same exercise of grace is required as at our conversion. We needed repentance then; we certainly need it now. We wanted faith that we might come to Christ at first; only the like grace can bring us to Jesus now. We wanted a word from the Most High, a word from the lip of the loving One, to end our fears then; we shall soon discover, when under a sense of present sin, that we need it now. No man can be renewed without as real and true a manifestation of the Holy Spirit's energy as he felt at first, because the work is as great, and flesh and blood are as much in the way now as ever they were. Let thy personal weakness, O Christian, be an argument to make thee pray earnestly to thy God for help. Remember, David when he felt himself to be powerless, did not fold his arms or close his lips, but he hastened to the mercy-seat with "renew a right spirit within me." Let not the doctrine that you, unaided, can do nothing, make you sleep; but let it be a goad in your side to drive you with an awful earnestness to Israel's strong Helper. O that you may have grace to plead with God, as though you pleaded for your very life--"Lord, renew a right spirit within me." He who sincerely prays to God to do this, will prove his honesty by using the means through which God works. Be much in prayer; live much upon the Word of God; kill the lusts which have driven your Lord from you; be careful to watch over the future uprisings of sin. The Lord has His own appointed ways; sit by the wayside and you will be ready when He passes by. Continue in all those blessed ordinances which will foster and nourish your dying graces; and, knowing that all the power must proceed from Him, cease not to cry, "Renew a right spirit within me."

Evening Verse

"I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought." Hosea 13:5

Yes, Lord, Thou didst indeed know me in my fallen state, and Thou didst even then choose me for Thyself. When I was loathsome and self-abhorred, Thou didst receive me as Thy child, and Thou didst satisfy my craving wants. Blessed for ever be Thy name for this free, rich, abounding mercy. Since then, my inward experience has often been a wilderness; but Thou hast owned me still as Thy beloved, and poured streams of love and grace into me to gladden me, and make me fruitful. Yea, when my outward circumstances have been at the worst, and I have wandered in a land of drought, Thy sweet presence has solaced me. Men have not known me when scorn has awaited me, but Thou hast known my soul in adversities, for no affliction dims the lustre of Thy love. Most gracious Lord, I magnify Thee for all Thy faithfulness to me in trying circumstances, and I deplore that I should at any time have forgotten Thee and been exalted in heart, when I have owed all to Thy gentleness and love. Have mercy upon Thy servant in this thing!

My soul, if Jesus thus acknowledged thee in thy low estate, be sure that thou own both Himself and His cause now that thou art in thy prosperity. Be not lifted up by thy worldly successes so as to be ashamed of the truth or of the poor church with which thou hast been associated. Follow Jesus into the wilderness: bear the cross with Him when the heat of persecution grows hot. He owned thee, O my soul, in thy poverty and shame--never be so treacherous as to be ashamed of Him. O for more shame at the thought of being ashamed of my best Beloved! Jesus, my soul cleaveth to Thee.

"I'll turn to Thee in days of light,
As well as nights of care,
Thou brightest amid all that's bright!
Thou fairest of the fair!"

Heavenly Father, I pray that You would renew me with your life; show me the way that Satan is hindering and tempting and lying and counterfeiting and distorting the truth in my life. Enable me to be the kind of person that would please You. Enable me to be aggressive in prayer. Enable me to be aggressive mentally and to think Your thoughts after You, and to give You Your rightful place in my life.
Again, I now cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and pray that You, blessed Holy Spirit, would bring all the work of the crucifixion, all the work of the resurrection, all the work of the glorification and all the work of Pentecost into my life today. I yield my life to You. I refuse to be discouraged. You are the God of all hope. You have proven Your power by resurrecting Jesus Christ from the dead and I claim in every way Your victory over all satanic forces active in my life and I reject these forces; and I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, with thanksgiving. Amen.

TIME TO PRAY

Heavenly Father,
I bow in worship and praise before you. I cover myself with the blood of Jesus Christ and claim the protection of the blood for my family, my finances, my home, my spirit, soul and body. I surrender myself completely in every area of my life to you. I take a stand against all the workings of the devil that would try and hinder me and my family from best serving you. I address myself only to the true and living God who has all power and control over everything. satan, I command you and all your demon forces of darkness, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to leave my presence. I bring the blood of Jesus Christ between the devil and my family, my home, my finances, my spirit, soul and body. In Jesus Name

I declare, therefore, that satan and his wicked spirits are subject to me in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Furthermore, in my own life today I destroy and tear down all the strongholds of satan and smash the plans of satan that have been formed against me and my family. I tear down the strongholds of the devil against my mind and I surrender my mind to you, Blessed Holy Spirit.

I affirm, Heavenly Father, that you have not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Therefore, I resist the spirit of fear, in the name of Jesus, the Son of the Living God, and I refuse to fear, refuse to doubt, refuse to worry, because I have authority (power) over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19).

I claim complete and absolute victory over the forces of darkness in the name of Jesus and I bind the devil and command him to loose my peace, joy, prosperity, and every member of my family for the glory of God and by FAITH I call it done. I break and smash the strongholds of Satan formed against my emotions today and give my emotions to you, Lord Jesus. I destroy the strongholds of satan against my body today and I give my body to you Lord Jesus, realizing that I am the Temple of the Holy Ghost (I Corinthians 3:16, I Corinthians 6:19-20).

Again, I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and pray that the Holy Ghost would bring all the work of the crucifixion, all the work of the resurrection, all the work of the ascension and all the work of restoration of the Lord Jesus Christ into my life today. I surrender my life and possessions to you. I refuse to fear, worry, or be discouraged in the name of Jesus. I will not hate, envy, or show any type of bitterness toward my brothers, sisters, or my enemies, but I will LOVE them with the love of God shed aboard in my heart by the Holy Ghost.

Open my eyes and show me the areas of my life that do not please you and give me the strength, grace and wisdom to remove any sin or weight that would prevent your close fellowship. Work in me to cleanse me from all ground that would give the devil a foothold against me. I claim in every way the victory of the cross over all satanic forces in my life. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving and I welcome all the ministry of the Holy Spirit. In the name and power of the Blood of Jesus, Amen

"LORD, may I never belittle or take for granted the abilities, gifts, calling, and position You have given me, because You have uniquely created me for such a time as this. Stir me up to never be selfish in my outlook and opinions, for I know that the things You have ordained and planned for me to do are important to the lives of others as well as my own. I thank You in advance that as I seek You and Your way of doing things, You will help me to understand and discern Your will and plans for my life and fulfill that unique responsibility You have given to me. I choose to walk into Your guidance and anointing today. In Jesus' name, Amen."

"If (we) can speak in the tongues of men and even of angels, but have not love, (we’re) only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if (we) have prophetic powers — that is, the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose — and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if (we) have sufficient faith so that (we) can remove mountains, but have not love, I (we’re) nothing—a useless nobody.
Even if (we) dole out all that (we) have, and if (we) surrender (our) body to be burned, but have not love, (we) gain nothing. (we) endure long and (are) patient and kind; I (we’re) never envious nor boil over with jealousy; not boastful nor vainglorious, do not display (ourselves) haughtily. (we’re) not conceited— arrogant and inflated with pride; (we’re) not rude and do not act unbecomingly. (we) do not insist on (our) own way, for (we’re) not self-seeking; (we’re) not touchy nor fretful nor resentful; (we) take no account of the evil done to (us)—pay no attention to a suffered wrong.
(we) do not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoice when right and truth prevail. (we) bear up under anything and everything that comes, and (are) ever ready to believe the best of every person. (our) hopes are fadeless under all circumstances and (we) endure everything without weakening. (we) never fail. In Jesus Name, Amen"

Father, I ask that you would send forth laborers of the harvest to be a witness to my (our) loved ones who are lost, preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I also ask that you would encamp strong laborers around my (our) spouse and children to be a strength and encouragement to them. In the name of Jesus I ask and thank you for doing these things. In Jesus Name, Amen"

"Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hand of the devil. Through the Blood of Jesus, all my sins are forgiven. The Blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is cleansing me now from all my sin. Through the Blood of Jesus, I am justified, made righteous, just as if I’d never sinned. Through the Blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, made holy, set apart for my Master’s use. My body is a temple for the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed, and sanctified, by the Blood of Jesus. I belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son, spirit, soul, and body. His Blood protects me from all evil. Because of the Blood of Jesus, satan has no more power over me and no more place in me. I renounce you satan and your hosts completely and I declare you to be my enemies. I command you satan and your hosts to leave me now, according to the word of God. I place (by faith) the Blood of Jesus on my doorposts; I draw the Bloodline of Jesus around family, my friends, possessions, properties and myself. In Jesus name, amen"

Satan, (we) come against you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (we) (are) armed with the blood (Rev.12:11) and the Word of God, my (our) Sword (Eph.6:17). Right now (we) pierce you through with the truth that Jesus Christ came in the flesh to destroy your works (1 Jn. 3:8).
Even now, as (we) lift (our) praises to the Lord, the chief prince (Dan. 10:13) assigned to rule over this home, families, ministry, city, states, country, Isreal, Men & Women Fighting in wars has been bound with fetters of iron (Psa. 149:8). (we) break the assignment of the world ruler over this Prayer in the Name of Jesus satan, you are also bound with chains of iron. Whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven (Mt. 18:18) and with that authority (we) cast you down. By faith we scatter every heavenly force arrayed against (us) as holy angels smite them on our behalf (II Kings 19:35). Greater is He that is in us and more powerful are those with us than those with you (I Jn.4:4). Jesus Christ Himself sends His Word to deliver (us) from your devices. (we) put to flight every demonic power in this Prayer that would hinder the work and word of God going forth in this place. Satan, (‘we) have bound your chiefs, therefore all your demons grope in darkness, staggering as we smite them by the resurrection power of Jesus. (we) laugh and God laughs (Psa. 2:4) as (we) see you brought to derision as you recognize that you must bow at the name of Jesus (Phil.2:10). Jesus is Lord over these homes, familes, ministries, cities, states, nation, men & women in wars, countries, Isreal. Now by faith (we) loose the peace and grace and truth of Christ. Come Holy Spirit and do Your good work here, saving, healing, delivering, as (we) see Your Kingdom established (Rev. 11:15) to the glory of the Father.

ELOHIM-Strong one

ADONAI-Lord I am a blessed child of God. I fear the Lord and delight greatly in His commandments. My seed will be mighty in the earth and my generations will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in my house and my righteousness will endure forever. Because I walk uprightly before the Lord, light will arise in the darkness. My confusion will be overcome and I will have guidance from the Holy Spirit. There is no problems which can come against me that I will not have wisdom and the leading of the Lord to overcome. I will also guide my personal, family and business affairs with discretion. I have wisdom beyond my natural ability. Because I am gracious, compassionate, righteous and give to others, favor follows after me. Everywhere I go, blessings find me. Surely I will not be moved forever. I cannot be shaken by circumstances or fear from the enemy, because I keep the Lord forever in my remembrance. I will not be afraid of evil tidings. My heart is fixed. I trust in the Lord. My heart is established, I will never be afraid. Satan desires to see me defeated. I desire to see him defeated and destroyed. His desire will not come to pass over me. My desire will come to pass over him. With God’s power, I will outlast Satan every time. I have dispersed and given to the poor. My acts of righteousness are eternal. My horn is lifted up in anticipation of a great outpouring of God’s blessing into my life. The wicked will see it and be grieved. Though they gnash their teeth at me, they will melt away and their desires shall perish. My desires will be granted by the Lord and my treasuries will be filled. In that beauitful precious Jesus'Name we pray. Amen.

HUMOR

HUMOR

One afternoon a man came home from work to find total mayhem in his
house.

His three children were outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the
mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front
yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the
house.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had
been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the
front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family
room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen,
dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, dog
food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and
a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of
clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she may be ill, or that
something serious had happened. He found her lounging in the bedroom,
still curled in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at
him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?"

She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home
from work and ask me what in the world I did today?"

"Yes" was his incredulous reply.

She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

Word of the Lord For 2007

Word of the Lord For 2007

Released through the

Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders

September 22, 2006

(Jewish New Year 5767)

This is the word given through a compilation of the prophetic words
and consensus of the ACPE. This year the council met at the
beginning of the Jewish calendar rather than at the January time
period in order to allow us time to distill and hear the Word of the
Lord before the turning of the Gregorian calendar. There are
differing variables that can affect the timing and or coming to pass
of these words:

All prophecy not contained in scripture is conditional

The timing of when the prophecy comes to pass may not occur in a one
year time frame.

It is possible for the prophetic warnings given will cause either
the person or nation to repent and thus turn away the judgment
prophesied. Biblically this happened when Jonah prophesied to
Nineveh and the city repented causing God to relent.
2007 is the year of moving from Mission Impossible to Mission
Accomplished. It is a year of perfecting, completing and finishing.

Here are some "finishings" that will take place:

Finishing of a building cycle. Time for new building strategies to
be released. Finishing of 5-fold restored, Apostolic and Prophetic
moving together.

Finishing anointing for shifting the courts in America. The nation
is hanging in the balance. We cannot miss this window of opportunity
for change.

Political times of realignment. War against the Jezebel spirit of
influence.

Finishing anointing for release of miracles.

Finishing anointing for release of transfer of wealth. Many deals
that are in the balance will be completed. Satan has set up
strongholds that are ancient and must be torn down to shift wealth
to the Body of Christ.

Harvest Season is upon us. Revival, revival. The youth are going to
wake up on university campuses.

The closing of one chapter in our lives and the beginning of a new
season. Don't hold onto the old when God wants to move you into the
new. Complete in 2007 so you can move into the new thing in '08.

Finishing of bondage cycles. Season of captivity being broken over
our personal lives, corporate visions, and national foundations.
Bible reading was taken out of U.S. public schools in 1967 and it is
time to end the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. This is the
year to read the Bible in school!
The year according to the Jewish calendar is 5767. It is the year of
the clash of the swords. The warfare this year on a personal level
will be to try and stop you from completing. The number seven stands
for completion. It is a year for arms and weapons. We are in a seven
year war cycle through the end of 2007 and so this is the year to
press in to press the enemy back from your gates and to complete the
battle that has been raging all around us. Do not be intimidated by
the battle for God will give you a two-edged sword to win this
battle. The enemy will rise up with a vengeance but we will have
discernment to deal with it.

This is not a season for passivity. Satan has released his "chatter"
into the heavenly realm to try and stop you from pursuing the things
of God. This chatter will cause diversions such as family problems,
financial lack, and even just general complacency. If you become
passive now you will not press into your destiny and obtain the
promises of God.

The tongue can be likened to a sword so this is the year to get your
tongue and what you say lined up with what God says about your life.
Release your faith for the prophetic promises that God has given you
will come to pass. Whatever the dreams in your heart, do not be
intimidated by the tremendous warfare. God is faithful and you can
only loose the battle if you quit. Begin to say what God says and he
will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation knowledge that you
need. Declarations that we have made in the past will have a
powerful exclamation point! 2007 is the year to possess the promise.

Beware of Satan trying to stir up problems between close friends,
family, and associates in this year because it is the year of the
clashing of the swords. Bind Satan from influencing you and those
around you. Jacob and Esau will try to clash but refuse to
participate. Just as Jacob sent presents before him (Genesis 32:18)
so you are to send blessings before you. Ask God for the strategy to
open the hearts of those who are stirred up against you.

Watch for the trap of fornication and adultery and beware of
seducing spirits. This is a year of purifying motives and holiness
in thought and actions.

2007 is the year when the Holy Spirit is beginning to move in a
powerful way across the face of the earth. New moves of the Holy
Spirit will be birthed and new wine released. Remember this is also
a year of confrontation so stay in the will of God and keep moving
when opposed. This is a year when old wineskins will clash with new
wineskins. The Lord also told us that in this time of acceleration
we need new wineskins every year to keep up with the movement of God
in the earth. Truth and understanding will be instruments of
division. It will be almost impossible to ride the fence.

The sword also represents judgment. God is going to judge things
that prevent us from moving forward. The sword of the Lord rules and
there is a ruling anointing coming upon God's people. This is a year
to dethrone terrorist's spirits that try to intimidate the nations
through spiritual warfare.

Finances will be released in a greater measure to be able to allow
the Body of Christ to disciple nations. Influence will be a key word
for the church.

New resistant strains of sexual diseases and other diseases will
develop.

God is going to begin to deal with the secular media. There is a
spirit of revulsion against the tactics of media who turn against
Christianity and godly principles. Those who have fed into this who
say they are Christians and hide under the guise of "religion"
and "political correctness" are going to be exposed and fall out of
favor. Political correctness in the Body of Christ will become
unpopular as Christians stand up for what is right and choose to
obey God and not man and speak out over media.

The Body of Christ is going to come into a deeper understanding of
the "John" spirit of love. John the Beloved laid his head on Jesus
breast. Sinners will come to understand the love of Christ through
the church. Hollywood will feel this and come alive for Christ! We
will learn to love the lost without condemnation; yet keeping the
righteous plumb line of God's word. Homosexuals will be converted
and brought to Christ through this love. In this 40 year anniversary
of Haight Ashbury and the free-love movement, there will be a great
movement of the love of Christ. These will particular impact San
Francisco where many homosexuals will be turned to Christ.

A new holiness movement will spring up. Teachers will teach about
holiness and preach against sin. This will spark revival movements
and the fear of the Lord will fall upon many. New young firebrands
will preach holiness to their generation and the "reality"
generation will see Jesus for who He really is.

We are in the beginning stages of another Jesus People movement.
Stanford and Berkley will experience a huge shift towards
righteousness in their student bodies. God based societies will
spring up theistic thinking. Secularism is going to start waning and
radical leftist professors are going to be moved out of the
universities of America in surprising ways. The righteous walls are
opening in our educational systems. While schools will be touched in
the coming years and there is a ground swell of this starting now.

International

Iran and the Middle East

It is the consensus of the prophets that Satan is trying to foment
WWIII but it is not God's timing for this. This could happen if we
do not pray but it would be premature. We must fast and pray against
the Spirit of Jihad and the Spirit of Nebo (the Babylonian god of
wisdom, literature, education, arts and science. This is the spirit
of violence/terrorism that is released in the earth today). However,
Nebo must bow to God's will. (Is. 46:1-2) We must tear apart the
occultic veil protecting the President of Iran and pray that the pro-
democracy movement in the country will over throw him.

Communism and Latin America

We came to understand that Satan is trying to "restructure" the
earth right now. (Daniel 7:25) and is shifting his power bases.
Communism is rooting itself in Latin America and the strongman of
that ideology has shifted from Asia. He wants to build a base in
Mexico in particular. We need to pray for Mexico right now.
Communism is the counterfeit for true Christianity.

Israel

God is shaking, shaking, shaking Israel. This is a time of uprooting
and exposure of corruption. Syria is going to exposed in regards to
its agenda concerning Israel

Central Asia

2007 will be a profound time for Central Asia as seeds that have
been sown even by the blood of the martyrs are going to spring up.
It is a time for churches, churches, churches and harvest. More
churches will be planted in the next few years than in the last 100
years combined.

Prayer

Dear Gracious God, I acknowledge that You are worthy of all honor, glory and praise.
In the name and power of the Blood of Jesus, Amen, Satan, I come against you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ I am armed with the blood (Rev.12:11) and the Word of God, my Sword (Eph.6:17). Right now I pierce you through with the truth that Jesus Christ came in the flesh to destroy your works (1 Jn. 3:8). Even now, as I lift my praises to the Lord, the chief prince (Dan. 10:13) assigned to rule over this home, ministry, city, etc has been bound with fetters of iron (Psa. 149:8). I break the assignment of the world ruler over this Home,City,Nations in the Name of Jesus satan, you are also bound with chains of iron. Whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven (Mt. 18:18) and with that authority I cast you down. By faith we scatter every heavenly force arrayed against me as holy angels smite them on our behalf (II Kings 19:35). Greater is He that is in us and more powerful are those with us than those with you (I Jn.4:4). Jesus Christ Himself sends His Word to deliver me from your devices. I put to flight every demonic power in this Home,City,Nations that would hinder the work and word of God going forth in this place. Satan, I have bound your chiefs, therefore all your demons grope in darkness, staggering as we smite them by the resurrection power of Jesus. I laugh and God laughs (Psa. 2:4) as I see you brought to derision as you recognize that you must bow at the name of Jesus (Phil.2:10). Jesus is Lord over these homes, ministries, cities, countries, etc. Now by faith I loose the peace and grace and truth of Christ. Come Holy Spirit and do Your good work here, saving, healing, delivering, as I see Your Kingdom established (Rev. 11:15) to the glory of the Father. Amen. God’s Wisdom

God’s Wisdom

Proverbs 27:3-4 (KJV):
3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

Proverbs 27:3-4 (AMP):
3 Stone is heavy and sand weighty, but a fool's (unreasoning) wrath is heavier and more intolerable than both of them.
4 Wrath is cruel and anger is an overwhelming flood, but who is able to stand before jealousy?

Thoughts for the Day

These verses from Proverbs tell us that jealousy and envy are greater burdens than the heavy weights of the cruelty of wrath and anger. Wrath and anger are many times vented quickly, whereas envy and jealousy are like a pot that heats slowly to the boiling point. This causes the one who is jealous to seethe within, and the envy they feel will gnaw at them over a long period of time. The dictionary definition of "jealousy" means resentfully suspicious of a rival or a rival's influence or resentfully envious of another.

In Song of Solomon, we read that jealousy is as cruel as death and it causes a burning flame of torment for those who embrace this evil. Some even go into what we term as a "jealous rage."

Song of Solomon 8:6: Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Envy and jealousy are so wicked that it also causes sickness in the physical body. Doctors have discovered that many physical ailments are due to problems in the soul and spirit of a man, and when negative attitudes are changed and replaced with positive ones, the patient recovers dramatically. Those who harbor envy, jealousy, anger and unforgiveness will find their bodies expressing these attitudes as diseases. On the positive side, when we walk in love, faith and forgiveness, our bodies will respond with health and peace of mind. When we yield to anger and jealousy, we drain our bodies of energy that we could use for productive purposes.

Proverbs 14:30: A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Romans 1:28-32:
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Envy is in this list of evils that people embrace when they reject God. These attitudes will ultimately bring the judgment of God upon those who practice them. However, through the sacrifice of Jesus, we can repent and receive forgiveness for our sins. We can be saved from judgment and hell and receive eternal life. It is not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to the mercy of God that He has saved us and washed us clean. We can be free from wrath, anger, envy and jealousy and be filled with the love of God through the Holy Spirit.

Titus 3:3-7:
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Prayer for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your gift of the Holy Spirit so that we have the power to overcome anger, wrath, envy and jealousy. Lord, give us the grace not to yield to these things when we are tempted. May we exhibit Your love in situations that the devil designs to be used against us, in order to provoke us to anger. Help me not to react in an ungodly way in those kinds of circumstances. May I rejoice in the promotion of others and not yield to a spirit of envy or jealousy. I ask this is the name of Jesus. Amen.

Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: and the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water: as for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water: and he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.

Behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Morning Verse

"It is a faithful saying." 2Timothy 2:11

Paul has four of these "faithful sayings." The first occurs in 1 Timothy 1:15, "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners." The next is in 1 Timothy 4:6, "Godliness is profitable unto all things, having the promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation." The third is in 2 Timothy 2:12, "It is a faithful saying--If we suffer with Him we shall also reign with Him"; and the fourth is in Titus 3:3, "This is a faithful saying, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works." We may trace a connection between these faithful sayings. The first one lays the foundation of our eternal salvation in the free grace of God, as shown to us in the mission of the great Redeemer. The next affirms the double blessedness which we obtain through this salvation--the blessings of the upper and nether springs--of time and of eternity. The third shows one of the duties to which the chosen people are called; we are ordained to suffer for Christ with the promise that "if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him." The last sets forth the active form of Christian service, bidding us diligently to maintain good works. Thus we have the root of salvation in free grace; next, the privileges of that salvation in the life which now is, and in that which is to come; and we have also the two great branches of suffering with Christ and serving with Christ, loaded with the fruits of the Spirit. Treasure up these faithful sayings. Let them be the guides of our life, our comfort, and our instruction. The apostle of the Gentiles proved them to be faithful, they are faithful still, not one word shall fall to the ground; they are worthy of all acceptation, let us accept them now, and prove their faithfulness. Let these four faithful sayings be written on the four corners of My house.

Evening Verse

"We are all as an unclean thing." Isaiah 64:6

The believer is a new creature, he belongs to a holy generation and a peculiar people--the Spirit of God is in him, and in all respects he is far removed from the natural man; but for all that the Christian is a sinner still. He is so from the imperfection of his nature, and will continue so to the end of his earthly life. The black fingers of sin leave smuts upon our fairest robes. Sin mars our repentance, ere the great Potter has finished it, upon the wheel. Selfishness defiles our tears, and unbelief tampers with our faith. The best thing we ever did apart from the merit of Jesus only swelled the number of our sins; for when we have been most pure in our own sight, yet, like the heavens, we are not pure in God's sight; and as He charged His angels with folly, much more must He charge us with it, even in our most angelic frames of mind. The song which thrills to heaven, and seeks to emulate seraphic strains, hath human discords in it. The prayer which moves the arm of God is still a bruised and battered prayer, and only moves that arm because the sinless One, the great Mediator, has stepped in to take away the sin of our supplication. The most golden faith or the purest degree of sanctification to which a Christian ever attained on earth, has still so much alloy in it as to be only worthy of the flames, in itself considered. Every night we look in the glass we see a sinner, and had need confess, "We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." Oh, how precious the blood of Christ to such hearts as ours! How priceless a gift is His perfect righteousness! And how bright the hope of perfect holiness hereafter! Even now, though sin dwells in us, its power is broken. It has no dominion; it is a broken-backed snake; we are in bitter conflict with it, but it is with a vanquished foe that we have to deal. Yet a little while and we shall enter victoriously into the city where nothing defileth.

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT...FASTING?

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT...

FASTING?

The "key" of fasting to receive God's authority in His kingdom, will be covered in this teaching. The Lord said He would give us the "keys to the kingdom." What did He mean by that statement? Keys to the kingdom are actually keys of authority.

Matthew 16:19, "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven..."

KEYS OF AUTHORITY

When Jesus becomes our Lord, we are automatically transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. Colossians 1:12-13 says, "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son." Now that we have a new king and live in a new kingdom, we must understand "kingdom principles" if we are to be victorious Christians. We cannot overcome until we have the keys that unlock the kingdom of heaven. The Lord never meant for us to wait until we die to experience heaven but purposed for us to bring heaven to the earth through the power of His Spirit. "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom" (Luke 12:32). We are unable to receive God's healing, provision and blessing if we do not know the keys the Lord has given us to accomplish kingdom living. Keys represent authority in the Kingdom of God, and authority is gained by using them. Fasting is only one of the keys to the kingdom; others are prayer, praise, worship, intercession and travail (a prayer burden from the Lord).

The key of fasting has nearly been lost to the modern church. It is also one that some say was only for early day Christians. Looking closely at the Word of God, we find that the Lord never did away with the principle of fasting, but it has been man who has attempted to make it obsolete. Fasting is still a valid key that can be used today to bring us into kingdom living. What is fasting? It is another means by which we can suffer for the Lord, through the voluntary abstinence from eating. Biblical fasting is done to bring spiritual results and is not simply for physical purposes. Doctors today are discovering the physical benefits of this practice and have found that abstaining from food (not water) for several days has a wonderful cleansing effect upon the body. Many impurities are burned up within the body as it is denied food, thus clearing the mind, and cleansing and healing the body. Even nature shows us that fasting is good medicine as we automatically lose our appetites when sickness strikes. Many people in the world are practicing fasting and finding it not only healthful, but even a wonderful way to lose weight quickly. However, even though we may enjoy these benefits while fasting, the Christian primarily fasts for spiritual purposes and not for health reasons. Obeying spiritual principles can produce positive physical results, but they are added blessings. Even people that are underweight who fast for spiritual purposes have been known to gain weight after completing their fasts.

The Lord tells us in Matthew 6:16-18 that when we fast, we are to do it unto the Lord. He doesn't say if we fast.

"Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly." We can see that our motives in fasting must be pure. We are not to do it in order to broadcast it, but we are to do it as quietly and simply as possible so as not to attract attention to ourselves. We are to appear to others as though we are not fasting. There are exceptions, such as when we are fasting as a group for a specific thing. Then it must be announced so that others can take part. We find this in Joel 1:14, "Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord." The main thing the Lord desires is that it be done unto Him and not as a show unto men. Our heart attitude must be right to produce spiritual results.

Jesus, by fasting, set an example that we might follow in His steps. Matthew 4:1-4, "Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

This Scripture shows us that the Lord drank water but did not eat food, for it says that after forty days he was hungry. The normal fast is without food, drinking water only.

There are also absolute fasts recorded in the Bible. Upon Saul's conversion in Acts 9:9, he immediately went on an absolute fast for three days, having neither food nor water. ("And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.") The body can go for a number of days without food, but cannot go for long periods without water. Therefore, the Bible does not record any absolute fasts that go beyond three days, except the account of Moses spending forty days and nights on top of Mount Sinai (Horeb) without food or water.

Exodus 34:28-29, "And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shown while he talked with him."

We can see that because Moses was in the literal presence of the Lord, it was that presence that sustained him so he neither needed food nor water. This, of course, is an exceptional fast.

The Lord did not set up any specific duration that we are to fast, but from His teachings, we see that he did expect us to fast.

Luke 5:34-35, "And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days."

Fasting can be done for one meal, one day, one month or for however long God leads. It depends on how the Holy Spirit speaks to us. Shorter fasts are easier to endure until we have built up our "spiritual muscles". A helpful book we recommend is Arthur Wallis', God's Chosen Fast. It is a spiritual and practical guide to fasting. A three day fast is most beneficial as a spiritual cleansing. An example of this is Paul's being thrust into his fast upon conversion. After the three days of cleansing, he received the Holy Spirit and his eyesight when Ananias laid hands on him (Acts 9:17-18). We also can be spiritually cleansed by fasting so that we receive more of the Lord's Spirit and have our spiritual eyes opened to new dimensions. A three day fast is also especially helpful in breaking any addictive habits.

These then are two reasons for fasting: We receive spiritual cleansing and our spiritual eyes are opened, and we also obtain victory over the devil. When Jesus encountered Satan, He was able to overcome Him because His fasting had given Him spiritual strength. Isaiah 58:6 also gives us light on this purpose of fasting: "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?" Many people believe that fasting is to move the hand of God, when in actuality it is to make Satan turn loose of the things he is holding.

Fasting looses the bands of wickedness. When Jesus discussed the keys to the kingdom, He told us to bind and loose. When we fast, we loose the bands of wickedness, undo the heavy burdens, set the oppressed free, and break every yoke of the enemy. Fasting is an important key to getting the victory over hard situations that do not seem to respond to normal prayer.

Fasting builds our faith. In fact, this is what Jesus meant when he spoke to the disciples in Matthew 17:21 in answer to why they were not able to cast a demon out of a child. He said, "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting." He was telling them if they wanted their faith to be at such a level as to be able to cast out demons, then they must fast and pray for their faith to increase.

Fasting also makes it easier for us to hear the voice of the Lord. We find an account of this in Acts 13:2-3:

"As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away."

While fasting, the Holy Spirit spoke to them and gave them direction. We too can be directed by the Lord if we seek Him through prayer and fasting.

Fasting and mourning are closely associated in the Bible. Two examples of this are found in Ezra and Nehemiah.

Ezra 10:6, "Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away." Nehemiah 1:4, "And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven."

From these Scriptures, we see that fasting and travail (a prayer burden from the Lord that brings crying and tears) were combined. Both of these men were fasting for the repentance of God's people. How we need this same kind of intercession today. Here were men so burdened for the sins of their people that they fasted, travailed and prayed.

Today, God is looking for people who are willing to take the same kind of burdens in the Spirit. After being filled with the Holy Spirit, so many are eager to do something for the Lord; however, due to a lack of proper teaching, they end up doing works in the flesh instead of works in the Spirit. Works that we do in our own strength profit nothing, but works that are inspired by the Spirit are profitable and bring results. Prayer is work in the Spirit. That is why it is not easy to pray. Travail and fasting are works in the Spirit. Witnessing under God's leadership is a spiritual work. God is looking for laborers who are ready to go to work for Him. (Matthew 9:37-38, "Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.") The Lord is looking for workers, people who will labor to produce eternal results. Laboring in the Spirit brings many into the kingdom of God and causes much growth in the church.

Fasting is also one of these labors. It is a form of afflicting our soul. (Isaiah 58:3, "Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge?...") By afflicting our soul, we say to our flesh, "Flesh, you are demanding to eat, but Christ is stronger than the desires of my soul. My spirit shall rule my soul, and my soul shall not have dominion over me." Numerous individuals today are in bondage to their appetites because they have never denied themselves anything. The Lord wants us to be ruled by the Spirit, not by the flesh. Fasting brings the flesh unto subjection of the Spirit. (Matthew 4:4, "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.")

Fasting is also a way we can minister unto the Lord. We read in Acts 13:2 that they ministered unto the Lord and fasted. It is a way we can offer the time we generally spend in eating as unto the Lord in prayer. As we spend this time with Him, it causes things to happen in the Spirit. We do not understand this principle any more than other mysteries in the Bible, but we find that by applying it we get results. There are many things I don't understand with my natural mind, but I receive them by faith because the Word of God says they are true. If God's Word says it, that settles it. I don't even understand why Jesus had to die on a cross to save us from our sins. However, because I believed that He did and received His forgiveness in my heart, I was "born again." Likewise, I do not understand all the principles of fasting, but I do know they work.

We have discussed the absolute and the normal fasts, but we need to also mention the partial fast. This is a fast where we restrict our intake of food, but do not totally abstain. We have a record of this in Daniel 10:2-3, "In those days I, Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled". Daniel went on a three-week partial fast, restricting his diet of all pleasant food, meat and wine. It was during this time that he had a visitation from an angel. Fasting always suppresses the flesh and heightens our spiritual sensitivity. Generally speaking, we hear the Lord's voice more easily while fasting.

We all can benefit by giving up our pleasant bread for a season. The Lord blesses us for whatever sacrifices we make for Him. Our country is suffering under a spirit of gluttony and it would be a great blessing for the United States to have a time of national fasting unto God. We sit down and eat many times when we are not even hungry, simply because it is a habit. We should not eat out of habit or tradition, but rather that we might glorify Christ in our bodies. (I Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.")

Fasting sometimes comes spontaneously. Often if people are grieving they lose their appetites and unconsciously fast. That is why mourning and fasting are mentioned together in the Bible. Another type of spontaneous fasting occurs when we are so busy seeking God about a situation or a spiritual goal that we simply forget to eat. (We are moving too fast to take time to eat because we are concentrating on the things of the Spirit. We are moving in the spirit in a "fast" way. The fasting acts as spiritual dynamite to speed things up in the Spirit that would normally take a longer time to come to pass.) Some Christians are forced to fast due to a lack of food in their part of the world. They can dedicate this time to God and He will bless it as He would a voluntary fast.

Does fasting move the hand of God? No. If we believe that God withholds from us and we have to fight to get Him to bless us, then we have a wrong conception of the Lord. Isaiah 58:6 indicates that fasting is not to move the hand of the Lord, but it is to make Satan turn loose of what he is holding back that rightfully belongs to us. Jesus died so we could have the blessings. They belong to us as His children. However, we must press in and demand the enemy to release some things. This is our right as sons of God. Sometimes Satan still controls much territory in our lives and the lives of our loved ones. He has many in bondage. Fasting is a key that breaks loose the bands of wickedness. As we fast and pray, Satan must let our children who are bound by spirits of rebellion and drugs go free. He must take his hands off our loved ones, our friends and family. Some people are so bound that only fasting can loose them from the wicked chains of darkness.

We need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as to when fasting is needed. Sometimes it is not necessary because the problem has already been "prayed through." We need simply to rest in the Lord until His time for our answer to arrive. If we fast at those times, we will just be going hungry. We need also to seek the Lord as to whether He would have us go on a partial fast, normal fast or total fast. If we will ask, He will let us know. He will confirm His will to us. If we cannot hear His voice too clearly, He will send somebody to speak His counsel to us. We must trust Him.

We need also to check our motives when we fast. If they are selfish, our fast will not be accepted by the Lord. We see this in Jeremiah 14:10 and 12, "Thus saith the Lord unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the Lord doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins. When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence." We cannot fast and have evil, unrepented sin or selfishness in our lives and expect God to answer our prayers. Many times we don't even recognize selfish prayers. When we pray for our loved ones to be saved or delivered, and our motive is to only bring relief to ourselves instead of being concerned that they receive the peace and joy of Jesus, we are wrong. Let us examine our hearts when we seek God for anything.

Isaiah 58 is the great fasting chapter. Here we read how this key can break the bonds of wickedness, undo the heavy burdens and bring healing. It frees the oppressed and the depressed. It breaks every yoke. Some people are yoked to bad habits in this world, and fasting can break those yokes so they can be free to enter into the kingdom of God. A three-day fast will break most addictions.

Isaiah 58:7 also says, "Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house?" Fasting makes it possible for us not only to give "spiritual bread" to those that are hungry, but also releases our finances so that we can give "natural bread" to the poor and needy. The Lord wants us to have an abundance so we can be a blessing to others. He will bring the poor to our houses to be fed. He wants us to be able to minister to others. He will give us a ministry and cause people to be drawn to our doorstep by the Holy Spirit for counsel and prayer.

Verse 7 continues, "when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him." We are to cover others' sin through fasting and prayers of mercy. We are to ask God to forgive them and give them another chance. If we were stripped naked right now and our lives were bared before the world, every one of us would be ashamed and embarrassed about our past sins. None of us could stand. All of us would fall down naked, exposed and humiliated. However, we do not have to suffer this because Jesus paid the price for our sins and washed those things away. Praise God! They are not there anymore; God does not remember them, and neither should we. (Hebrews 10:17, "And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.") We need to pray for others to be released from the burden of sin that is upon their lives.

Verse 7 also says, "...and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?" One trick of the enemy is to get us so busy ministering to others that we fail to minister to our own flesh. We must also ask the Lord to do a work of cleansing in our lives, and also make sure that we take time to let the Lord minister to us through His word, and in time spent alone with Him. Also, we are not to neglect our own flesh and blood. We must not get so busy with others' needs that we do not minister to our own families. We are to fast for them, pray for them and spend time with them.

In verse 8 we see the fruits of fasting, "Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward." Healing will come forth quickly through fasting. If we have a besetting sin that we cannot get the victory over, fasting will strengthen us spiritually and deliver us from that bondage so that our righteousness can go before us. What a beautiful promise that the glory of the Lord shall be our reward! We receive a reward during the time of fasting, but it does not stop there. We also will be rewarded by seeing things come forth in the future as answers to our prayers.

Verse 9 says, "Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity." By this we see there are conditions to our fast. We cannot point our fingers at others in condemnation if we expect our prayers to be answered. We must come humbly before the Lord if we desire to see our prayers answered.

The remainder of Isaiah 58 explains that the Lord will cause us to be lights to others, and that we shall not walk in darkness but have the Lord continually guiding us. He says we shall be taken care of in drought. No matter what is happening in the land, we shall have plenty. Waste places shall be rebuilt, and the Lord will restore and repair the damage that has been done to our lives. We shall ride upon the high places of the earth and shall inherit God's blessings. Fasting brings restoration not only in our individual lives but in the life of the church also.

To sum up the different kinds of fasts:

(1.) Normal Fast - No food, water only.

(2.) Absolute Fast - Absolutely no food or water (Caution: Should not be undertaken over 3 days and only then if you have a clear directive from the Lord and are in good heath).

(3.) Partial Fast - Abstainance from certain kinds of foods (ie: No meat or sweets).

(4.) Juice Fast - Fruit and vegetable juices only.

If you are considering an extended fast, you should seek competent medical supervision of someone familiar with fasting. This is especially needed if you are taking any medications. (This article is informational and spiritually directive and is not intended to take the place of medical advice). We would also recommend you reading these books for detailed information on fasting: God's Chosen Fast by Arthur Wallis or The Coming Revival by Dr. Bill Bright.

RESTORATION OF THE CHURCH

We are living in the time of restoration of the church now. God has begun a work of restoration in us. The power of the Holy Spirit is being restored to the church. God is healing His people and giving back to them the things Satan has robbed. The Lord is restoring truth to the church again, so she can rise from obscurity and be seen in love and power, even as she was in New Testament days.

The world is looking for a church that has the power to heal and bless, a church that walks in victory. The world wants to see a church that is not hypocritical, a church that is holy and full of love. We are the individual members of that church if we are born again. The work must begin in us personally before it can manifest itself corporately. The Lord is returning for a bride without spot or blemish. God is preparing her. We must have the keys to the kingdom so that we can come to that place in God where the world can tell the difference between "us" and "them."

Fasting is a wonderful tool given to help bring us to that place. God's ultimate desire is that we live "fasted" lives, thus reducing the need for periodic fasting. However, until we come to the place where the kingdom of God means more to us than food, we need to set our wills to fast in order to bring our bodies under subjection to the Spirit of the Lord.

Paul was an overcomer and says in I Corinthians 9:27, "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." For us to overcome we must do likewise. To grow in God we must follow the methods He mapped out in His Word. The Lord is encouraging us to walk in His footsteps so that we might attain the same victory that Paul did. It is not impossible; we just have not understood God's ultimate purpose for our lives; we have lived far below the level God intended. Even though we will walk through some hard places in this life, we will be able to say it was worth it all when we come into the same perfection that Paul did.

II Corinthians 11:27, "In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness." Philippians 3:8, "Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ."

The keys of prayer, praise, worship, intercession, travail and fasting will bring us to the same place that Paul attained through Jesus. We can have a similar anointing in our lives, and be used as Paul was to achieve God's victories in the name of Jesus. We can enter into the Lord's authority so that the demons and devils obey us. We can expose Satan's devices and learn the ways by which we overcome him. These important keys will unlock many from the chains of darkness. Let us use all the keys to the kingdom so that the kingdom of God might be formed in us.

"Father, You know each one that is reading this today, and I ask You to reach out and meet their needs. Lord, minister to their need now through the power of the Holy Spirit. If there are those who have not been filled with Your Spirit, I pray that You would fill them now to overflowing. Lord, to those who need You as Savior, touch them and come into their hearts; may they be born again and placed into Your kingdom. For those who need healing in their bodies, touch them with Your creative power. Father, deliver and set free those who are suffering from depression and are bound by the things of this world. Bless Your people, Lord, as they seek Your will and way for their lives. Give them Your strength to use the keys of the kingdom to overcome the enemy. In Jesus' name, Amen."
