Morning & Evening Devotionals

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

Walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Thy word hath quickened me.
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one.
Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven.
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way ... let us draw near.

The "End of Times"

I have asked myself questions during todays time and had remember the picture that I have ( AS TO THE LEFT OF THIS POST) whether we are really living in the Last Days as Jesus described them to His disciples, and I showed how we are regularly experiencing the "labor pains" of what is yet to come. As we watch these things happen in our world, as we sense these labor pains getting closer and closer together, we understand that the coming of Jesus Christ is near.

But what is the next event on God's prophetic calendar? Is it Armageddon, the rise of the Antichrist, or something else?

It seems to me that the next event on the prophetic calendar is the Rapture of the church. However, if you try to look up the word "rapture" in the Bible, you won't find it. Unless you have a Latin translation, that is. The phrase "caught up," is the Latin word rapturus, which means "to be caught up." A more literal definition is "to be snatched up." To seize upon with force. " To Come into the Presence of, To Meet" This occurs after the dead rises first then Believers will be taken to meet the Lord in the air. We will be in the primary mode of motion or direction toward in place or thing of one's purpose to that eternal idenity, aim of heading towards our eternal home in glory.

The apostle Paul described this event in his letter to the Christians at Thessalonica:

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

But Paul wasn't the only one to speak of the Rapture. Jesus mentioned it in Matthew 24, where He said, "Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming" (vv. 40-42). Jesus also spoke of it in John 14, where He said, "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also" (vv. 2-3).

We also find a reference to the Rapture in 1 John 2:28 and 3:3: "Abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is."

Home in an instant

Returning for a moment to Paul's description of the Rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4, note that verse 17 says that Christians who are living at the time of the Rapture "shall be caught up together with them [the dead in Christ] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." The word "meet" in this verse carries the idea of meeting a royal person or a person of great importance. When the Lord calls us to Himself, we will meet the ultimate royalty, the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

We see from these verses about the Rapture that Christians will be received into the presence of God instantaneously. According to 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, "We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." Note that this verse doesn't say "in the blink of an eye," but rather "in the twinkling of an eye." A blink is fast – so fast that most of the time you don't even notice it when you blink – but the time it takes for an eye to twinkle is even faster.

There might be some who think they will have time to decide whether to believe when the Rapture happens. But no one can decide that fast. Anyone who has waited until the last minute will be left behind, and they will have to go through a horrible time coming on the earth known as the "Great Tribulation." However, if you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, you have the hope that you will be taken before the Tribulation period comes. The Bible says, "For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 5:9) In the flash of a second, every living Christian on earth will suddenly and instantaneously be gone. So, you might go to bed one night and wake up in heaven.

Prayers for The Nation / Scriptures

Prayers for Revival for All People

"Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people" (Isaiah 56:7).

"And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves" (Mark 11:17).

"But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest" (Matthew 9:36-38).

"Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain...." (Zechariah 10:1b).

"Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession" (Psalm 2:8).

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" (Matthew 7:7-8).

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place" (2 Chronicles 7:14-15).

"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved" (Romans 10:1).

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee" (Psalm 122:6).

Prayers That God Will Hear (How To Pray)

"Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted" (Luke 18:10-14).

"Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity" (Isaiah 58:9).

"Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD" (2 Chronicles 34:27).

"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord" (James 1:6-7).

"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him" (1 John 5:14-15).

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses" (Mark 11:24-16).

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you" (John 15:7).

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 18:19).

"And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight" (1 John 3:22).

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive" (Matthew 21:22).

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24).

"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (1 Timothy 2:8).

"LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear" (Psalm 10:17).

"Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:24).

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5).

"For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows" (Job 22:26-27).

"But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him" (Psalm 4:3).

"The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles" (Psalm 34:17).

"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear" (Isaiah 65:24).

"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up" (Psalm 5:3).

"Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me" (Micah 7:7).

"I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God. For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners" (Psalm 69:30-33).

"For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones" (Isaiah 57:15).

"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" (James 4:8).

"Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard" (Psalm 22:23-24).

"If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles. For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear" (Job 11:14-15).

Pray In The Spirit

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God" (Romans 8:26-27).

"Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also" (1 Corinthians 14:13-15).

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost" (Jude 1:20).

Pray to Escape Temptation and Trouble

"But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day" (Matthew 24:20).

"For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (Luke 21:35-36).

"And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation" (Luke 22:46).

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41).

"Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is" (Mark 13:33).

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" (Matthew 6:13a).

Prayers From the Cross

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

In addition to the few words spoken by Jesus while He was on the cross and other recorded prayers of His, we can be certain that Jesus also prayed the words that are written in the Prophets and in the Psalms. He may have prayed all of Psalm 22 as he hung on the cross:

Psalm 22:
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations.
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

Prayers of the Righteous Ascend Before God

"....And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God" (Acts 10:4b).

"And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints" (Revelation 5:8).

"And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand" (Revelation 8:3-4).

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit" (James 5:16b-18).

"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:1-8).

"And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" (Luke 11:5-13).

"These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren" (Acts 1:14).

"Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;" (Romans 12:12).

"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;" (Colossians 4:2).

"Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day" (1 Timothy 5:5).

"And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day" (Luke 2:36-37).

"I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day" (2 Timothy 1:3).

"Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way" (1 Samuel 12:23).

"Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him" (Acts 12:5).

"But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word" (Acts 6:4).

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42).

"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers" (Romans 1:9).

"Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?" (1 Thessalonians 3:10).

"We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you" (Colossians 1:3).

"Brethren, pray for us" (2 Thessalonians 5:25).

"Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me" (Romans 15:30).

"Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God" (Colossians 4:12).

"Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer...." (1 Corinthians 7:5a).

"And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes" (Daniel 9:3).

"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (1 Timothy 2:8).

"Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually" (1 Chronicles 16:11).

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost" (Jude 1:20).

"Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Proverbs: The Wisdom of Solomon

Proverbs 28:3 (KJV): A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.

Proverbs 28:3 (AMP): A poor man who oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaves no food (plundering them of their last morsels).

Thoughts for the Day

This verse from Proverbs tells us that when one who is a wicked person, and is similar in need, takes advantage of their own kind, they are like the destruction of a sweeping rain. Instead of identifying with the plight of poverty, a wicked poor person will exploit their fellow victims. This is such a mean thing for a person to do, when they plunder those who are already suffering under poverty with further oppression. Jesus told a story of this kind of behavior in the book of Matthew.

Matthew 18:23-35:
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

In this story, we see that the Lord and master of this servant was kind to him and forgave the debt that he owed. However, when one of the fellow-servants of this man owed him money, his attitude toward him was not the same as his master's attitude was toward him. He was mean and demanding and had him thrown in prison for not paying his debt. When the master heard of the treatment of this man, he called him a wicked servant. He called him in and reminded him that he forgave the debt owed to him, and he also chastised him for his lack of compassion and pity. It made the lord of this servant angry, and he changed his mind and had him thrown in prison for the debt that he owed him. He told him he would remain in prison until it was all paid.

Jesus then used this story to tell his children that we must forgive our brothers and sisters of their trespasses against us, because He has forgiven us of ours. If we refuse to forgive others, the Lord will allow the torments of the devil to bring us into a prison of bitterness and pain. Unforgiveness hurts the one who carries it, more than the one who it is directed toward. One line of the Lord's Prayer gives us an example of how we should pray and ask for forgiveness.

Matthew 6:12-15:
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

If we fail to forgive others, it can bring us into temptation and evil, and we can embrace a root of bitterness that will block our blessings and hinder our walk with God. The virtues of kindness, compassion and forgiveness are traits of our heavenly Father and should also be character traits of all of His children.

Prayer for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for forgiving me of all of my sins and trespasses. Father, may I always be quick to forgive others for their trespasses against me. Lord, I pray that all of Your children live in harmony with each other, and that we all possess a kind and forgiving disposition. Lord, give us love and understanding for each other in the family of God. Let us lift each other up when any of us fall down and may we have Your virtues of grace and mercy toward each other. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Godly sorrow worketh repentance not to be repented of.

Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head: therefore my heart faileth me. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.
Turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Is it well with thee? And she answered, it is well.

We having the same spirit of faith.
As chastened, and not killed; as sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For which cause we faint not, but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

God’s Wisdom

God's Wisdom Proverbs 28:1 (KJV): The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Proverbs 28:1 (AMP): The wicked flee when no man pursues them, but the (uncompromisingly) righteous are bold as a lion.

Thoughts for the Day

This verse from Proverbs tells us that those who are righteous, and who do not compromise, will be as "bold as a lion" in their position, while those who are wicked will back down and flee. The Bible tells us that those who despise the commandments of God and do works of unrighteousness will ultimately reap what they sow and much sorrow will come to them. God speaks through the scriptures and tells us that terror and fear are things we reap when we sin and disobey Him. When we obey Him, we can walk in faith and courage.

Leviticus 26:15-17& 36:
15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

36 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.

How does God send things upon people? Punishment is simply the penalty for sin or the reaping of the evil that we commit. When this happens, it is called the judgment of God. Although judgment usually has an evil connotation to it (the execution of the penalty for sin), it also has a positive side. Judgment has to do with the sowing and reaping process. This is defined in:

Galatians 6:7-9:
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

From this, we can see that the negative side of judgment is that evil reaps destruction, while on the positive side, good that is sown through Jesus is rewarded. God's judgment on evil is seen by the curse that is on wicked men, while God's judgment for the righteous will manifest in His blessings and rewards on them. This is true for individuals, as well as nations. Yes, judgment comes upon us as we reap what we have sown. God wants to bless us with good things, but our sins prevent God from blessing us.

Jeremiah 5:25: Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

We are all being judged by the Word of God daily. When we fail to keep God's laws and Christ's commandments, we are judged in that respect. When we honor God and keep His Word, we are also judged as faithful. There is one way we can avert judgment. When we repent of our sins and walk in a daily relationship with Jesus, we no longer come under judgment. Jesus took our judgment on the cross to save us from hell, which is the penalty for our sins. We must pray that the church comes to true repentance that will produce a genuine revival in our nation; otherwise we will face more fear and terror, and we will even be fearful when we have nothing to fear.

Psalm 53:4-5a:
4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was.....

When we serve God and keep His commandments, we will not walk in fear, even when there is fear all around us. If we are filled with the Holy Spirit, His Spirit in us will cause us to walk in faith, not fear. We will not run when we hear of evil, but will be as "bold as a lion" and face the evil with God's faith and overcome it in the name of the Lord. This is the reason innumerable missionaries down through the centuries could go into dangerous countries with the gospel and not fear the evil in those nations, because they had the greater One living in them!

Prayer for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful that You came to deliver us from fear and terror. Fear produces torment and You said in Your Word that if we served You, we would be far from terror. Lord, deliver me from those things that produce fear, like fretting and worry, and vain imaginings. Forgive me when I yield to fear and help me to remember Your promises and to have faith in You. You said that You would never forsake me, nor ever leave me. Help me to remember I am not alone when I face any crisis. May I always remember there is victory over every wicked attack against me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Morning & Evening Devotionals:

He led them on safely.

I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment.
Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
They got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. So didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Ye are washed, ... ye are sanctified, ... ye are justified.

The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. The chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Christ ... loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. To her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

1O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

2Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

3Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

4For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

5For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

6Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

7Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

8Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.

9O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

10Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.

11Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.

12Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice

13Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

A call to all people to praise God.

When Christ finished his work on earth, and was received into his glory in heaven, the church began to sing a new song unto him, and to bless his name. His apostles and evangelists showed forth his salvation among the heathen, his wonders among all people. All the earth is here summoned to worship the Lord. We must worship him in the beauty of holiness, as God in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself. Glorious things are said of him, both as motives to praise and matter of praise. (Ps 96:10-13). Being " Devout" in taking Hold of the Lord in one's life and soul. Reverencing God in all of one's ways. In Rebuilding God's Kingdom in creating an atmosphere of change in rebuilding all structures in those lands that have gone very crusty and is dull from ideology of what it only in religious ideas of will be changed in the true spirit of God in a deep penterating awareness inside of a person in bringing changes from deep within in that deep spiritual growth that only a person can find in being free in Jesus Christ therefore bringing it alive in ones own reconcilliation unto others all across this land in bring revival .we have to bridge all gaps in those whom prayer for people in where they live in going to places whom have guidenances in all steps toward bringing down waste places whether it be in people or structures of when it became lost of old hidden things that has brought the city, states, nations. In having God Holy Visitation in having an open door unto God's people in shutting all doors that had been built by demonic forces across our land. we want that liberation coming from Jesus Christ our Lord in crying out to him for a true shaking in this nation, and distant countries to come forth in his reigning Kingdom all around his people. The old atmosphere needs to change in his children being in his safety net. This ought to be in God's own timing in His prepard season for us all. We His people does operate in having faith in our most High God simply because he can do anything before us. May everyone have a heart beat for God for our nation and rise -up and take ahold of God and knock down the man of perdition in praying for this nation and God's people in keeping close to Him daily. We can produce change all across this nation with God that is with us alway's.Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend ( Prov.27:12), along with it's two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour Eccl.4:8-10),that keep us together in Jesus Christ.

Right now (we) pierce you through with the truth that Jesus Christ came in the flesh to destroy your works (1 Jn. 3:8). Even now, as (we) lift (our) praises to the Lord, the chief prince (Dan. 10:13) assigned to rule over this home, ministry, city, states, Nations has been bound with fetters of iron (Psa. 149:8). We break the assignment of the world ruler over this LAND in the Name of Jesus satan, you are also bound with chains of iron. Whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven (Mt. 18:18) and with that authority we cast you down. By faith we scatter every heavenly force arrayed against us as holy angels smite them on our behalf (II Kings 19:35). Greater is He that is in us and more powerful are those with us than those with you (I Jn.4:4). Jesus Christ Himself sends His Word to deliver (us) from your devices. We put to flight every demonic power in this City, States, Nations that would hinder the work and word of God going forth in this place. Satan, We have bound your chiefs, therefore all your demons grope in darkness, staggering as we smiteand crush them by the resurrection power of Jesus. We laugh and God laughs (Psa. 2:4) as we see you brought to derision as you recognize that you must bow at the name of Jesus (Phil.2:10). Jesus is Lord over these homes, ministries, cities, countries, nations. Now by faith we loose the peace and grace and truth of Christ. Come Holy Spirit and do Your good work here, saving, healing, delivering, as we see Your Kingdom established (Rev. 11:15) to the glory of the Father. Amen. Precious God of (Our) Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may you grant (us) a spirit of wisdom and revelation - of insight into mysteries and secrets – in the deep and intimate knowledge of You, by having the eyes of (our) heart flooded with light, so that we can know and understand the hope to which you have called (us), your set apart one, and by faith (we’ll) comprehend the greatness of Your power that is at work within (us), so that I can know and understand what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing, greatness of Your power in and for me because I believe, as demonstrated in the working of Your mighty strength, which You exerted in Jesus Christ when you raised Him from the dead and seated Him at Your own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come. You have put all things under His feet and have appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. In Jesus Name,Amen. Father, I ask that you would send forth laborers of the harvest to be a witness to (our) loved ones who are lost, preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I also ask that you would encamp strong laborers around (our) spouse and children , familes to be a strength and encouragement to them. In the name of Jesus I ask and thank you for doing these things. In Jesus Name, Amen" Father, I believe Jesus Christ Himself took my diseases and my sicknesses on the cross. I believe that with His stripes that He took in His body, I am healed. I am the healed. I receive Jesus as my personal Healer, just as I have receive Him as my Lord and Savior. The power to resist sickness lives inside of me. I thank you for the gift of the body of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

(Once this has been prayed, thank the Father that satan is bound, and continue to confess your healing and thank God for it. As faith is based on the finished work of the cross, faith looks at the present situation and claims victory NOW and Now and Now until it comes…don’t waver and watch what you say, as the Word say we get what we say, so make it good, and from the Word.)

Prayer For Bee Moore & Alexias

Father right now we come boldly before your throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. We agree with Your word says in Matt. 18:19, so we are fully persuaded that you will totally fulfill your word in Bee & Alexias’s life.
Jesus paid for Bee & Alexia’s healing, where it says in 1 Peter 2:24b "by whose stripes you were healed." Father, Jesus already has paid the full price for Bee Moore & Alexias’s healing. So we right now thank you for Bee Moore & Alexia’s total healing; as it says in your word in Phil. 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;"
So we thank you Jesus for there is none like you in all the earth! We give You, Jesus ALL of the praise and glory for a complete healing as it says in Isaiah 55:11. "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." And we send Your word, now into Bee Moore & Alexias’s need, accessed by the power of the blood of Jesus and faith in the finished price by Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. In the name of Jesus, Amen and Amen. We Prayed!

Last night, as the voting tallies were reported, I knew we were in trouble. This morning when I read the news, my reaction was heart-sickness.

I was so grieved, that I did not think I could do anything today but weep before the Lord.

In my mind, I ran down a list of, "How could something like this possibly happen? Our economy has been showing a new strength--the stock market is reporting all time highs, unemployment is declining, interest rates are at an almost all-time low, and....WE PRAYED!"

So what happened? It looks like the enemy won--OR DID he?

Then I thought, "Oh no!", now we are all in BIG trouble. We failed the Lord; we failed the unborn. We failed...I felt discouragement and despair threatening to drown me.

MY HEART CRIED OUT, "NOW IT'S DARKER THAN EVER!"

I started out my heart cry to God with, "Now it's darker then ever--how could this happen?"

Then I clearly heard the Lord chuckle and say, "Get Ready! The Son of Righteousness is arising with healing in His wings!" I knew this Scripture passage comes from Malachi 4:2.

I then saw a huge ball of fire (much larger and more brilliant then the sun). It rose up over a very dark land. Stunning, magnificent light flooded the land with such illumination that there was not even shadows, let alone darkness.

Then the Lord chuckled again and said, "I have a few tricks up My sleeve, too!" A trick implies something not conventional--something not "predictable."

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life."

In a split second, I realized the Lord is fully and completely going to accomplish His purposes here on earth, even through this election.

Concerning this election, this is what really happened--We, His Body, did pray, we did believe, we did vote, and we did cry out for righteousness.

Faith DOES NOT go by sight--and God does hear the cry for righteousness. And He has heard us!

Let us continue to walk in and cry out for righteousness, and let us remember the Bible is filled with numerous stories (Sodom and Gomorrah, Gideon, Abraham, and others) where the Lord clearly moved on behalf of the minority...as long as they stood for righteousness.

Although the Lord uses the voting process, He is not confined to it. God does not need a majority or a quorum.

He only needs the righteous to cry out for righteousness!

The Lord is not nervous, and He wants us to rest in the assurance that HE is LORD!

In this time, we must encourage ourselves in the Lord (just like King David did in a very dark hour).

We must not release word curses against people who "won" instead of who we voted for. By doing that, we would only strengthen the enemy of our souls to work evil in this country. There are good and Godly (and SOON to be Godly) people on both sides of the aisle in Washington, D.C. We must therefore bless and pray for each person in office--without regard to how we feel they will rule.

What would actually happen if we really prayed for and blessed those who appear to be in the camp (again, on the left or the right) of the unrighteous? Oh just imagine the glory God would get if we were heard on High, as we cry out for the souls of any and all unrighteous leaders to be turned to the Lord!

Be encouraged dear ones--we have NOT failed--and darkness has NOT prevailed.

God clearly said HE had a "few tricks up His sleeve," and darkness is about to meet head on "the SON of Righteousness!" Oh what a glorious collision this will be! Don't forget about God's laws and Regulations that (He) handed down unto Moses in having Obedience to God's instructions for all of us . In Matthew 8:28-34 we are the redeemed as we follow Jesus Christ in having God's authority of the demons in doing so they have to go and find their own place as Jesus Christ himself told them to do as the person had one's assurance which is calming . Jesus Christ had up surped them because they have No place being in God's children so we have all the rights in one's own delieverance. In Psalms 107:26-29 God will return our Joy even though this election didn't go our way as we had prayed for during this season in waiting on the Lord we keep to ones knees and pray in faith unwavering in patience, trust in him as we await our peace in the delieverance in the Lord Jesus Christ. Now we give our thanks unto God which always causes us to triumph of what is coming in the heavens where he reigns and rules.

A Wounded Spirit, Transformed

A Wounded Spirit, Transformed

A wounded spirit God wants to mend
To bring healing and wholeness once again
Where there's brokenness God gives new hope
And waters our souls to bring new growth
When we have no one, He calls us His friend
And forgives our sins so we're not condemned
His love goes deep and covers our sin
So His light may shine brightly within
Dispelling darkness and deep despair
His love is constant and alwa ys near
The cleansing streams of God's sweet grace
Washes over us as we embrace
His holy word that came to life
In the person of His son Jesus Christ
Who brings to us life, hope and love
And eternal blessings from His throne above
I could never want anything more
Than forgiveness and healing from my Lord
For we shall not stay wounded or dismayed
But be transformed by the word He gave
And with His spirit sent to comfort us
We shall emerge with faith, hope and love.

God’s Wisdom

Proverbs 27:23-24 (KJV):
23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
24 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?

Proverbs 27:23-24 (AMP):
23 Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds;
24 For riches are not forever; does a crown endure to all generations?

Thoughts for the Day

These verses from Proverbs exhort us to be diligent in how we handle our business affairs, because even if we have riches and fame at a point in time, that status can change. Although these verses were addressed to those who were farmers, we can relate to them today in regard to our businesses. We are to take our responsibility over the operation of them, in regard to knowing the state of our business affairs. In Bible days, much of the commerce was in agriculture and farming. They were told to watch over their flocks and herds. This meant, they were to make provision for them, keep them safe, check on their numbers to make sure none were missing, care for the wounded or sick ones, and pay special attention to the new born babies.

In verse 23 we are admonished to take care for our business likewise, including our household financial affairs. In our day, many people are filing for bankruptcies and many of these could have been avoided if they had practiced diligence. Of course, there are other factors that can lead to bankruptcy as well, such as overextending oneself because of lust or greed, or lack of sound business principles. Sometimes it is not a person's fault that they are forced into bankruptcy, as they are victims of illnesses, tragedies or weather related disasters, etc. However, those who lack diligence, and do not take care of their business, will create problems that can cause them severe financial difficulties that can lead to poverty.

Proverbs 10:4: He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Verse 24 says that riches may not last forever, just as a king will not rule throughout every generation. At some point a new king will reign as the old one passes on. I read this statement once, "Money talks, it says good-by." It can say "good-by" in numerous ways. One of those ways is, as people age, their work capacity diminishes and it usually affects their income by decreasing it. If people do not use wisdom in their financial areas, they can spend up all their money when they are young and have nothing to live on when they are old. If we listen to the Lord, and apply good business principles in regard to our finances, we can be assured that we will be taken care of when we are in our senior years. Living a life for God is one of the best insurance policies you can have. There are things that God does for you that no man can provide; one of those is good health in old age. God promises that the righteous can still bear fruit in old age. That means we will still be able to work and produce.

Psalm 92:12-14:
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.

We must take our responsibilities and be diligent, if we desire God's blessings in our lives. We should not forget to help others along the way, too; as when we bless others, those blessings will return to us in the form of our need.

Prayer for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your abundant provision in my life. I am grateful, not only for financial provision, but for the spiritual blessings that You have also given me. I do appreciate daily strength and health so that I am able to be diligent in all of my affairs. Give me wisdom so that I might prepare for the future properly. Ultimately, my faith and trust are in You, as You hold the future; however, may I not neglect those things in the natural that need to be done, so that I am not ill prepared. Lord, also, I do not want to forget to give and help others along the way as well. May I be a good steward over all that You have given me. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Morning & Evening Devotionals November 07, 2006

Morning & Evening Devotionals

I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. There is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The mighty God. Who made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name. We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Forasmuch ... as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same.

Ps. 89:19. Isa. 43:11. 1 Tim. 2:5. Acts 4:12. Isa. 9:6. Phil. 2:79. Heb. 2:9. Heb. 2:14.

Morning & Evening Devotionals Gather my saints together unto me, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time, without sin, unto salvation. He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, ... they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am. Then he shall send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth, to the uttermost part of heaven. If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee.
The dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet be Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

God’s Wisdom

God’s Wisdom

Proverbs 27:22 (KJV): Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

Proverbs 27:22 (AMP): Even though like grain you should pound a fool in a mortar with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

Thoughts for the Day

This verse from Proverbs tells us how bad character traits are so deeply engrained that it is impossible to remove them, even with drastic measures. The Bible definition of a fool is one who is rebellious. This is why many who end up in jail are incorrigible, as they have life-long habits that are embedded throughout their entire personalities. These kinds of people are referred to as having criminal natures with a mind set on doing evil. Penal institutions have tried to rehabilitate many of them with a variety of programs, yet most of the criminals they release return to their old ways of crime. In the natural, they retain their foolishness and rebellion because it is a part of them. There is another scripture that talks about those who habitually do evil, making it impossible for them to do good.

Jeremiah 13:23: Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

The only way for someone who is very wicked to change is through the power of God. What is impossible with man, is possible with God. The Bible is full of stories of those who were once rebellious sinners; they were foolish, murderers, adulterers and liars, and when they surrendered their lives to God, they were changed by His grace. All of us were sinners until we came to Christ and allowed Him to deliver us from our sins and our fear of hell. He gives us the promise of eternal life when we come to Him.

Titus 3:3-7:
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

The penal institutions in the U.S.A. have witnessed many of their prisoners changed when they have allowed the gospel to be preached within their walls. Even some of the most hardened criminals have been changed by the power of the Holy Spirit, and have been released to live good and clean lives. Paul, one of the greatest apostles in the New Testament, was a man who went about murdering Christians, thinking he was doing the will of God. One day, he had a supernatural encounter with God, and his entire life was changed. God took the scales off of his spiritual eyes and then he could see the evil he had done. After his miracle conversion, he spent the rest of his life in the service of the Lord Jesus Christ and was responsible for writing a good deal of the New Testament of the Bible.

Acts 9:1-6:
1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Today, we are faced with religious zealots of Islam who think killing Christians is the will of God, just as Paul did. We must pray that these people will see the true light of God and experience the saving power of Christ. They need to understand that a religion will not save them and give them eternal life; this can only be found in a personal relationship with God's Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus warned us that there would be people who would seek to kill Christians. We are living in these days now.

John 16:2b-3:
2b ... yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Matthew 24:7-9 & 13-14:
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Prayer for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your promise of salvation and eternal life to all who would call on You. I am grateful that You, Lord Jesus, came to save me, and that You now live in my heart because I have surrendered to You. Lord, I pray for Muslims and all other people who are trusting in a false religion to save them. Lord, may they experience true salvation through the love of Christ. Lord, open their hearts and give them Your light, so that they may know the truth that Jesus is the Son of God, and the way to eternal life. You said in the Bible that You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. I pray that the lost may find their way to You. I ask this in the name of Jesus, my Lord. Amen.

Morning & Evening Devotionals

Daily Light

Let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; ... we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

1 Thess. 5:8. 1 Pet 1:13. Eph. 6:14,16,17. Isa. 25:8,9. Heb. 11:1.

Daily Light

The children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country.

Thus saith the Lord, because the Syrians have said, the Lord is a God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys; therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord. And they pitched one over against the other seven days; and so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
They shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
